Re: Technique Discussion
You drop your back knee parallel to the board and then grab behind your back foot. Google drop knee and you'll probably get a few good pictures of it.

Trust me, I have plenty of fun when I ride.
I guess he meant that slipping a bit out of the usual is cool sometimes. It's so fun to do things linke stinkbug or tucking in some 100% unaero tucks sometimes.

i think a great technique is knowing that your technique is great. builds up some extra confidence. am i right or am i right?

Re: Technique Discussion
Probably. If your tachnique sucks and you think it rocks then you're screwed. But it does build extra confidence.

your right, ahaha unless your technique really does suck. But if you have confidence in your technique, then truly your technique is the best, but always be open to helpful tips from fellow fish.

im no pro, but next time you ride pay attention to what your shoulders do, keep them square facing forward, do not over-rotate them.

Re: Technique Discussion
What does "Railing Corners" mean? Going through a corner with out putting a hand down and not grabbing the board either?

it comes from feeling like you are on a rail, like a train or something
you are sticking the line you want to and feel really solid

Re: Technique Discussion
I got my longboard last week and figure the first thing I need to do is learn to stop safely. After footbraking, sliding is the next form of speed control. Is there any logical order in which you should learn slides? Is there any one slide that you should learn first, either because it is the best for stopping or because learning that slide makes it easier to learn other slides? Is there a most important slide for safely slowing down or stopping?
For instance, does it make sense to learn to Coleman slide first, then pre drift, then pendy?
At what speed does airbraking become an option?
Thanks.

Re: Technique Discussion
I would learn to slide to a stop around 90* (I say around because you don't want to flatspot your wheels), pendy, and then pre-drift.
Air breaking always has some effect no matter the speed, but you will feel it most above 50kph
