Re: Technique Discussion
I started with the behind the heel grab for toesides because it seemed like I could get a lot better grip on the board but as I have gotten better I now prefer the infront of heel. I don't know the reason but for me it helps me keep my shoulders square which helps me keep form sliding excessively in my drift and thus more speed

Outside Inside Outside
Is it really the fastest path through a turn? I know that it's the longest, straightest path through a turn, but if you can take a turn way tighter without sliding, is that the faster line?

the idea is to exit the turn with maximum velocity, thats why you see people footbreaking up to a turn to shed off just enough speed to take it without drifting out and other people predrifting before turns

Depends on the turn and the rider. There's not really any "fastest" way through a corner, every corner needs a different line and it may not always be out in out.
Out in out is generally a good rule of thumb but it is not always the case.

Depends on the turn, rider, board, etc.
A long turn vs a tight turn is like gentle carving vs hard carving. Hard carving will turn you faster, but you lose more speed. You want to find the line that gets you around the corner while losing as little speed as possible.

its already been discussed.

and its mostly because i dont know how to do them lol. idk how to position my body,
or my legs or anything.
so if any other regular riders could help me out here that would be awesome

Re: Technique Discussion
I'll post some pictures later, but I gradually bend down depending on the speed. If I do so too much I'll probably lose control when I pull the board back to my feet in consequence of the little speed.

The fastest line is the shortest one you can make without scrubbing speed.
I am always getting beat by a friend I ride with Because he is just better and has his setup dialed. I run Out In out cause I need the room to make the turn. A good practice technique is to pick a hairpin you feel comfortable with. Start out in out and then start cutting it tighter and tighter as you progress and become more comfortable with your board/setup and your ability. As in auto racing, If a guy is using less track or road than you and going faster, it's cause he makes more grip.

so even if i'm not totally spread out on my board keeping my weight even will work?
-
Re: Technique Discussion
The problem isn't on keeping weights even, if your weight is more concentrated on your feet it's more likely to drift. Someone made an image explaining but I lost it.
