the 100 mph was planned for early this morning but has been temporarily called off because a really close friend of mine got into a bad car accident 2 nights ago. Hes still unconsious and is in critical condition after going through a ditch rolling and hitting a tree. there were two more of my friends in the car, one was badly bruised and the other broke her pelvis and got pretty beaten up. Please send out your thoughts/prayers/whatever you think could help.

keep your asshole comments to yourselves if you have nothing nice to say about this, thanks.

Thankyou very much for all of your support and good thoughts.

Stay safe, man... see how F'ed up your friends got? That's with a metal cage of protection around them. Trees and telephone poles are all around and I can guarantee it will not feel good to hit one while going even 40mph on a skate, nevermind 70mph+.

I bet that car crash was a sign that you should back out of this. Allow me to share with you the advice my father told me about relationships.

A "pencil dive" can get you 614mph.

"Kittinger set a record for the fastest speed by a man through the atmosphere of 614 mph"

    < Aerospaceweb.org | Ask Us - Fastest Skydiver Joseph Kittinger >

I know this is a bit off topic of the thread, But Kittinger did that from the highest reaches of the atmosphere, He was literally a stones throw from the black of space.
It was to test ultra-high altitude pressure suits for ejection from spy planes.

The only reason he attainted that speed was because there was almost zero drag because there was almost zero atmospheric pressure at that altitude.

There's a video of his jump actually, Well, A video from the point of view of the weather balloon he was in.

Pro speed divers can hit close to 200Mph.

Back to the topic, Good luck if you do go through with your attempt.

Have your friends bring shovels, So that way if you fail they have something to scrape the 60ft smear that you would be in that case.

I hope you are as lucky as you are dumb. You are definitely going to need all the luck you can get.

Lb1 gave some good advice. He fell on maguns going 50 and he had great leathers so they stood up. At 100 it would seriously be something different. Get some luge hangars if you gonna do it though. Or just wait till the red bull sponsors it!...Just remember, you dont have to prove anything to anyone.

Trucks really aren't going to help. Maguns aren't anymore stable than any other truck out there... It was probably faster than 50 and I hit a nicely sized rut in the road.

It takes an experienced and skilled rider to go fast. I recommend padding every damn pole on that highway. Any immovable object is not just a potential danger, it is DEADLY!

I'm pretty sure some crappy ebay leathers aren't going to cut it. For this attempt, I'd buy some custom fit SUPER Motogp leathers!

My opinion still stands. You are making a dumb decision.

I agree for the most part, but I doubt a telephone pole with pads will feel much better than one without at 100mph
