3rd gear on your motorcycle for a 100mph???? i've hit 106mph in 1st gear. rev limiter kicks in. anyway. yeah i couldn't imagine 30mph on my longboard. but i'm fine at 186mph on my '06 gixxer 1000.
1st gear! you must love your engine! I baby my ####. Lasts longer that way. gixxer is my next bike. i've cruised 150 on my SV1000. Worst ticket I ever got was 109mph. And it was the first speeding ticket I got since I was 18... I'm 53 now My 03 SV1000 has 40K on it now in 3 years. I 've gone thru 10 sets of tires and it's time for the big valve job.
Any dipshit can go straight fast. Just point....throttle....zoom Find a nice smooth road without cops around and consider your IQ vanishing and your testosterone the reason it got eclipsed. find a track and study the machines. they are fascinating!

Yah the time frame has expired on when he said he'd be doing the attempt. I reckon he gave up or failed or bailed, awesome!
He called things off on Saturday:

Please send out your thoughts/prayers/whatever you think could help.
keep your asshole comments to yourselves if you have nothing nice to say about this, thanks.
Thankyou very much for all of your support and good thoughts.

I'm guessing someone called the police and they paid a little visit, had a nice chat with the kid and his mother...

no...if he got hurt, it would be ALL over hte national news...cops would arrest YOU for being a public endangerment on your longboard...longboarding as we know it would cease to exist

Don't laugh. That's what happened back in the 1960's. In 1965 or so some big national magazines ran articles like "The Skateboarding Injury Epidemic: how it threatens the health of our precious children!" States, cities and towns all across the country passed anti-skateboarding laws, many of which are still on the books today.

word. in 1965, my friend's neighbor was the mayor of my town (hes super old now), and after that #### happened we got a law passed in our town that outlawed skateboarding. EVERYWHERE. although it is not largely enforced as much as it used to be, im sure the following 3-4 years, it would be pretty dangerous to step foot on a skateboard.
This kid had better listen to our advice...
We will take it very personally if he jacks
up skating laws even more than they already are....
Personally, I smell a lot of internet BS...
He can't hit 35 mph on a hill, he never went 85
behind a car... I say, hooey........
100mph would surely lead to his death...
I'm sorry for his friends who were involved in the accident..
There's reason enough right there not to do it....

Yeah, it would prolly be bad in his town and maybe in the whole state if he got injured or killed and there was a lot of publicity.
