but street skaters aren't breaking MULTIPLE traffic violations, riding on a public thoroughfare, or going 100 ####### miles an hour.

if this is the first HUGE publicity that longboarding gets (which it will be), it's really gonna get a hugely negative stigma from the general public. i mean, think about it. 99% of the population knows what a skateboard is, that skateboarders do tricks, etc. so when a street skater gets hurt, the common response is "dumbass..." because skateboarding is well established in the mainstream. i'd guess that maybe 50% of the population (at max) knows about longboarding. so, when GMA or today show or whoever covers the story "LONGBOARDER DIES AFTER ATTEMPTING 100MPH", that's gonna be THE mainstream view of longboarding.

if anything this guy should rly try and get it into a big deal
get sponsers and media
its more safe,
and then longboarding its self would get more publistity
and more idiots towin on the back of cars going 100

srsly, if he wants to do it, who gives ####. skate or die. Cops know me already, I know I wont stop skating, no matter if its nationwide some kook died trying to skitch. When it comes down to it, thats all your doing anyway, skitchin not very impressive, Do it without a helmet or leathers, then at least your cooler than biker...

Live young, die fast. If you really want to do it, i say go for it. The best way to feel truly alive is to follow your heart and go wherever the winds take you. That's how I roll. My heart doesnt guide me to dangerous things though, but if it did, I would probably follow and trust it.

jumping out of plane, terminal velocity on average is around 180mph. some dudes do capsule dives and hit over 200.... too much resistance on a skateboard. the laws of physics won't allow it easily?

just seems 2 wheels makes sense. 1 up front and one in the back. but then it aint a skateboard? 4 allows too much chatter and has curious lines at high speeds. just wonder what a sensible 100mph skateboard would look like. you guys got pics?

There is no sensible 100mph skateboard, if 95% of all cars start to lose their aerodynamic properties at 60mph (in terms of drag/fuel efficiency) then forget it. Thats what makes this so over the top. I'm not going to tell him not to do it though.
