Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
you should not do this, it is really unsafe, and it is not a good step to take for the longboarding community, if you get hurt it affects everyone in the world who longboards because it will just reinforce the stereotype., if you are looking to push the limit there are lots of ways, but if this is the one that you are committed to then here would be my concerns.
no washers,
since it is a drop through go to a local hard ware store get a longer kingpin, and use a double purple on the top,
so that you have a puple on the bottom, the hanger, then a purple khiro a washer another purple and another washer or two, and then just compact the piss out of the bushing and you will be really stable,

thats was not the point of that post. they where arguing about terminal velocity.

Hey did they ever redo this road? Glacier Point, Yosemite? Now that's a killer hill!
If these guys can do it on the snow, we can too?

have you ever straight lined down something steep on skis, specifically softer skis? They will hop around and chatter quite a bit

Every winter for the past 22 years.
My point wasn't that it ain't hard on skis, or that there is/isn't a problem with terminal velocity. What I was trying (and failing) to say was that I think the limiting factor for super-high speed skateboarding will turn out to be stability in the trucks, rather than the hill.
.
Why are you reading my sig? It's boring.

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
i go skiing alot,
and when doing some slolame or just staright bombing,
a better tuck really can make a noticable difference in speed
but in skiiing its nearly impossible to stabalize wobbles/trembles
but with skiing wobbles dont relay on the same princaples as trucks

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
getting towed is redneck speedboarding- at 5mph and 100mph
if you go for it make sure you have beefy equipment- a melted hub or whatever could f you up good. work up to it slowly, have communication with the driver down pat, and check your gear after every run. personally, i don't think the possible reward (a short lived pat on the back) outweighs the possible consequences (death).
