Maybe instead of solid washers, de-wedge the rear truck so its at O degree's and get some tight ass bushings. This way you still have lean but no turn, just the front.
Good luck. Hope those leathers and helmet are up to snuff. Street Bikers crash at super high speeds quite a bit and come out marginally okay. Just dont fall from a straight up standing position.
Thats pretty funny Shane, I guess great minds think alike, JimZ was running a 0 degree rear truck at Vernon.
+1.You have to be EXTREMELY SURE that your board is gonna hold up, cause you'll only have yourself to blame if it implodes at 99mph, because that would just be depressing.Like Reece Man said, drop that sucker as low as reasonable, like 1 inch off the ground.i wouldnt wanna hit 100mph on a drop thru....more like Titanium DH race with pogo baseplates and some non-sperical 10mm axle,20* trucks with some ceramic bearings and titanium hardware....i dont even wanna think about it.....
Im 100% positive my board can hold up, i built it just for this and ive built plenty in the past, the thing is completely solid. Ill drop it even further tomorrow to about an inch and see how it feels. The hardwear on it is brand new stainless steel so it should be alright. The bearings are full ceramic and were cleaned and lubed yesterday. Id be so pissed to wipe out at 99...
Thankyou for all of the help and advice and ill see how low i can get this board tomorrow.
Ill post detailed pictures of my board setup tomorrow to get more input from you guys.
Thanks,
Chris

Its will be time consuming but you should go the entire length of the road and remove any rocks, sticks, ect. because any tiny bump at that speed will cause problems.
hey man, it's great to hear that you are sticking with it, but in a way, maybe you should train more a bit?
I know you said you have been 85'ish, but I'm sure theres a big difference in that 15mph.
Anyway, good luck, and maybe I'll see you in NYC later this month?

I think this is something that can be easily done. Your board isn't going to fall apart, and it doesn't matter what kind of helmet or leathers your wearing. I think it is unnecessarily dangerous, at least for someone I've never seen go very fast. At this point, there are only a handful of people in the world I'd trust at that kind of speed. To be honest, the footage of you riding in your trailer gives me little confidence.
I also find this sort of thing insanely pointless. Dubester and I talked about doing something like this a couple months back. He wanted to go for 120mph, and we decided that we'd rather go for 80mph via gravity. Because, what's the point of going fast behind a car when the hardest part of going 70mph + is being kicked around by the wind? There is little to no rider skill involved in this type of stunt. Just take the socket wrench to your trucks and you're set. Going really fast the real way takes a HUGE amount of focus and and even larger amount of skill. There's always just seemed like there was something wrong about riding a downhill board on flat anyway.
If I were you, I'd try to find a friend of a friend who was more trained in medicine than a lifeguard. Maybe a paramedic? Anyway, have fun with this, but don't be surprised when you get made fun of a LOT for being a pussy bitch who gets towed on flat to go fast. At least Biker Sherlock was a gnarly dude without getting towed and everyone knew it.
GET SOME MAGUNZ. Seriously though, I'd recommend an evo or a dh race for this type of stunt.
I told you on facebook and will tell you again. This is a dumb idea. Biker Sherlock did the same thing.
BTW, the amount of wind resistance you will be dealing with will be enough to throw you pretty hard. Going 60 and then airbraking can be pretty intense. I really hope you have thought this through.
My prayers are with you. Make sure you work up to 100 and you don't just go straight for it.
Also, make sure you don't hit any of those electrical poles.
Id suggest some near new grippy wheels and a spineguard. Cars lose their gas-mileage efficiency at around ~60 (they become 10% less fuel efficient past 60) so like lb1 said expect some gnarly wind resistance.

he said he has a spine guard...
just wonderin, what car is he using?
I'm sorry man, if you make it onto the national news doing this ####, regardless of the outcome, you will likely make unsponsored speedboarding a thing of the past. I care about this alot, don't mess it up for the rest of us.
I mean...
Do you have life insurance? Can I be your benefactor? How much is your policy?
I hope you get it, and like colton said i hope you don't get hurt. and congratulations just for the attempt on pushing the limits. that's what sports like this are all about, pushing the limits and trying to do what others tell you that you are crazy to do. Everyone who tries something new and dangerous is "Crazy" but then they accomplish there goal and before you know it ten other people are accomplishing the same goal you paved the way for like the backflip on a dirt bike just for one example..
thats the exact reason why i havent posted anything on the fish about this since i started planning.
I admire you're vigor for the speed, but that is not a reason to think the fish is soured towards you. It's not exactly an everyday feat to break 100mph. And planning is not what gets you there, it IS skill. And I don't want to pull the "Hey you're not a 'Concrete Kahuna!' You must not be good" crap, but I'm gonna look at this from the other end of that view point. While we don't have to right to say your bad based on how well known you are, that also comes with hard truth, we have no reason to believe you are any good. And you hurting yourself going that fast would pain many of us as longboarders personally. 100mph is HARD. I havn't come ANYWHERE close to breaking 100mph (my top speed is 80kph) and I don't know many who have. If you do it and are alive to tell us, I will applaud you and truly be amazed, but I wouldn't count you pulling it off and if you did, I'd be really disturbed that you hurt yourself doing so.
