Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
you should get a flying squirrel suite that ppl wear jumping outta airplanes so they can glide aroud. Also, wear a parachute.
So that way, when u hit 100+, airbrake then spread ur wings and take off ! after u lose some speed, pull the parachute. Get this recorded, put it on you tube, and no one will think ur affilliated with skateboarding, and that you are just a kook. i would definitely watch that.
Is this a cry for attention? dude i bet ur a good skater

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
I sure as #### aint going to read through 8 pages, but it seems like a majority of the people are telling you not to do it...#### that, if you want to do it then do it. You know the risks involved and you are taking the proper safety precautions, so just do it. If you already went 85 like you claimed, then the additional 15mph really isnt going to change it up that much. Make sure your bearings are going to be able to take the insanely high RPMs so they dont overheat and melt your wheel mid-run. You might as well try to hit 105mph so you can beat the current world record too while you are at it...

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
If you fall, you aren't just affecting yourself. You'd affect EVERYBODY who's into DH. And we'd all find your corpse and pee on it. Trust me, my dad is a mortician. He's told me some ridiculously graphic things that have happened to bodies... Keep in mind that 120 mph is the human body's terminal velocity. If you hit the ground going 100, they're gonna be scraping pieces of you up with a shovel. And since you'd be in your leathers, you'd leave a nice sticky mess for the medical examiner after fermenting in the hot summer sun.
Why do you wanna go this fast in the first place? Just to say you did? It won't make your male appendage any bigger. You'd just get bragging rights before going to jail for reckless driving, reckless endangerment, etc. We're not flaming you, we're just trying to prevent another sad story and protect our sport. DON'T DO IT BROSKI!!!!

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
Yea, 100mph is super risky, but with the proper equipment, you can really save your ass in a fall. That explains why a lot of sportbikers can walk away after falling at speeds of excess of 100mph, and can walk away, but then again, some don't

Thunder it means that freefalling from high grounds, the maximum speed you will reach is 120mph no faster.

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
So if you hit something like a pole or a car then it will be the same as if you jumped out of a plane with no parachute and hit the ground.
My vote is no, if you crash and die (if you do the first the second will definitely happen at these speeds) this will definitely affect everyone else. And I wouldn't put money on you succeeding.

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
Damn this is gonna be hella crazy. Driving 100 in a car is scary enough. Also, biker had the advantage of riding on a runway so it was completely wide open space and a good surface. If it's on a public road anything can happen.

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
its not really comparable to jumping out of a plane w/ no parachute, because falling off a skateboard of 2 inches tall wont be the same. scary tho....when is this gonna actually happen?

Ermm... not really.
If you fall of your board going 100, it's mainly going to be just abrasive injuries.
Any decent leathers can handle that.
When a Top-Bike racer crashes, they're hittin the tarmac at an excess of 150 sometimes even 200, and the majority of cases, they can just get up and walk away from those crashes.

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
i was talkin to the kid in flashchat. he cant even afford a 35 plate, i highly doubt he will be able to afford a set of decent leathers.

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
Nah. If he get caught this will have nothing to do with downhill skateboarding.
If he dies or seriously gets hurt this will have nothing to do with downhill skjateboarding.
Just a stupid stunt a kid wanted to do on a skateboard and failed doing...
So well good luck and honestly there is not much risks doing that... if you have a minimum of skills...

Thats what i'm talking about. I'm sick of all these Safety-Nazis on the fish that want everything to be sugar-coated and bubble wrapped, and dont wanna take any risks at all in life. Theres a difference between taking a calculated risk and being extremely stupid, BUT, you all need to keep in mind, everyones defintion of a risk is different. Things that one person considers crazy, stupid, or life-threatening, the next person might not think is crazy or stupid, and they might do these things on a daily basis.
And F*CK each and every one of you fairies that keeps babbling about how this kid dying while trying to reach a 100mph, will affect each and every one of us. I guarantee, the backlash from the media, law enforcement, any new potential laws, etc etc, that come as a result from this kid dying isnt gonna stop me or hundreds of other speedboarders from doing what we love to do. There are millions of spots to speedboard in this country and in this world, theres no way we will ever be stopped. When one spot gets busted, keep it movin fool...onto the next spot. Guerilla Bombing. Thats half the fun if you ask me. This kid dying and this so-called "F*cking it up for the rest of us" will just make things more interesting when searching for and bombing hills.
I also think its hilarious that people are so supportive and excited when someone like K-Rimes goes to Brazil, breaks speed records, and helps push the limits of this sport we all love, but the thought of some teenage kid trying to push the limits of the sport as well, but in a slightly different manner, is totally dangerous, irresponsible, and ignorant. Where was all the bitching and moaning about how K-Rimes's mom would would feel if he died in Brazil? Where were all the discouraging comments when K-Rimes attempted to push the limits of the sport? Where were all the people coming out of the woodwork to preach to K-Rimes about how he is so stupid for trying such a thing? Whats with this double standard?

Re: My upcoming 100mph attempt
well I can understand your need for speed Im sure we have all at some point had or have the desire to crack 80,100, 140kph .Id like to think you know what your doing, Being towed to 160kph is serious sh!t, and I dont believe anyone here wants to see you get hurt,
I would seriously look at you gear, R11s 180s are cast and arnt made to handle those speeds and vibrations , any small crack or metal blemish can turn nasty fast , Ive seen my in laws V8 supersalon snap welds from stress, and those things are rigorously checked.
anyhow if you are going to do this, like many have said make sure of the wind and sweep that road before you go,
make sure your helmet has good strong D rings and your leathers and race worthy.
as for your deck Id be looking at something as solid as an evo not necessarily one , de wedge the back to 0-20 35 front and use a bushing not washers , washers cranked down course you to bounce over any ripple in the road, get 1mm thick speed rings , harden kingpins. and bigger maybe 6mm bolts .
Theres no way your going to be able to stand up at 160kph so I hope you have practice that step from low tuck to standing air brake.
and the next thing is,.. good luck.
I hope you make it, and post the vid either way.
Yourve got balls , and thats my 2c
