Default Dump Road questions

Me and my friends are looking for a place to hit up this weekend, and we were thinking about making the trip over to Dump Road....we were just wondering how fast it is, and if its alright for amateurs? Weve gone about 35, and were fairly comfortable at that speed but have a lot to learn. Is that place a little to brutal for us?

It is fast.

55+ on a normal day.
60+ with a tailwind.

Don't go and get yourself seriously injured.

I'll be more than willing to take you guys out for a Skyline sesh instead.

1) only go there on sundays
2)get a car at the bottom to stop stupid ppl from going to the dump when it's closed, so you have a closed road. communicate via walkie talkies or cell phones.

3) i'd advise against going down it if you've only gone 35 before. The road itself is petty smooth, but the center yellow can jerk you around, and ESPECIALLY because the HARDEST part of dump is shutting down before the stop sign at the end. that means footbraking/sliding at potentially very high speeds. I'd advise against it for now, but if you want to (and know where it is, I cant really stop you). I'd recommend posting up on ncdsa to see if you can get any locals to come out and show you the ropes.

It's fast but really straight... then you have to brake pretty quickly to shut down before a stop sign. It'll be good practice if you want to learn to go faster. Hard footbrake from 50mph+ to a stop is required at the end.

That sounds f'n scary. Has anyone ever been to Top of the World in Malibu? I went there this past week, on stunt road, not to skate but to visit with my girlfriend and her family, then eat at Duke's. Those roads were absolutly rediculous, I recall seeing a sign that said 10% grade for next 3 miles.
