I don't want to sound like a miserable old bastard, but a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
In this case the weak link, to the best of my knowledge, is bonds holding the wood together.
I realize that its still early days, but is BB plywood the best core?
I am very interested to see how Insect progresses with this cool material!

Mellow, thats a decent point. I can tell you that the stuff Steve gets is very high quality and the resin that is used to adhere the Birch to the Nano is some crazy stuff that will basically bond to anything and won't let go.
I'm stoked for what will progress next too. Steve is constantly brainstorming and trying new ideas. He's got a ton that he wants to try concerning different core's. Personally I think a Balsa core with some kind of hardwood exterior would be sick.

I talked to Steve the other day about some of the new boards. He told me he was switching epoxys for the
lamination process, and I guess, the company that makes the newer epoxy he's considering is going to guarantee they don't delaminate. I don't know the specifics of that guarantee, but that's gotta be some strong stuff if they can guarantee a $450 skateboard doesn't delam.
