You probably got up to quickly. When drifting the one thing to remember is to not panic when you start drifting. If you want to stop drifting you should distribute your weight from your hand to your board again then it'll be safe to take your hand off the ground.
this always happened to me when i broke the hanger to my bears. i had to swapped them with those same trucks youre using. i had just bought a set of otangs and i had them broken in and was ready to start drifting them. i high sided pretty much everytime i drifted. but once i replaced my hanger and remounted my bears i was able to drift smoothly without high siding. so it maybe your trucks because that was my case.

Mcgoon it seems like your opinion on everything is, "why are you on the internet, go skateboard." It's not helpful. Ya, actually skating is what's gonna get you skateboarding better, but it's not like people shouldn't ask for any help. Someone asking questions every now and then doesn't mean they don't skate enough.

didnt get hurt much, but is it just the trucks, my wheels? (72mm s9)
or my drift?

Not once did I say "why are you on the internet, go skateboard", nor did I ever mention that people shouldn't ask for help. I gave him an answer that I felt made sense. I can't see what was wrong with his technique. The text isn't that descriptive and there's no video or pictures.
People have been drifting toeside corners for decades. Even before there was an internet. They got good through practice and that's exactly what I suggested he do. I know it's painfully simple, but sometimes that's all there is to it.
the same thing happened to me a few days ago on my hellcat with bears and superballs on heelside turn... drifting through an intersection on my way to school in the morning... it just seemed like it gripped before i was ready for it to and it launched me into the curb... totally embarassed too because there was a ton of people at the intersection either taking their kids to school of the kids walking to school... but i recoved the next day on my evo by pulling the most mad drift ever!

i just was noticing, it looks like you mounted the back truck straight onto the kicktail to add some sort of wedging effect. i think, if i'm not mistaken, that having the rear mounted on the kicktail like that wedges the truck. this would make the rear a bit squirly, which would make it much easier to get wobbles. this has nothing to do with your drifting, but thought i'd let you know anyways.
