i have this amazing hill about a mile from campus and i was wondering if the dervish could handle a 35-40 mph ride, i have a sector 9 bomb hills that can do it no problem

ahh i was so bummed they shut it off. stupid magnet had to break. but in all seriousness that thing is a marvel of science to be looked upon in years to come.
and for the poster. no. absolutely not. unless you want to eat pavement at that speed while your dervish flys into a curb cracking its nose. then go right ahead

That depends, what is your set up and are you any good? I've gone 30-35ish on mine with trucks loose as ... well you can imagine and super soft bushings.

ya good point, i dont want to crack that hoe, i have randals II 180s and sticky gumball wheels. but they do make nose protectors for the dervish!

Just keep the trucks nice and tight your first time and as long as you're decent you should be fine. If you can't speed check or footbrake at that speed you should work on that before you go that fast and put on a rubber, we don't want you crashing unprotected and little dervish demons being born.
