Early this morning one of the GMR locals, Eli, Was run over by a motorcycle. What happened this morning was scary and a wake up call. I went though dead mans and had 3 guys on road king Harleys coming up on me. I was in my lane but still was close. All I could think of when exiting the turn was I hope eli stays in his lane. at that moment I heard the crash looked behind me and saw one of the motorcycle guys go down and jimmy pulling over to make sure everyone was ok. I got to the bottom and alittle while later jimmy pulled up. He told me Eli had a broken leg but was ok and conscious. After that we split. Now it may seem kinda s#@!y that we left him there, but mind you last week a sherif who frequently hassles us on the hill showed up and threatened that next time he caught anyone on a skate up there everyone was going to jail! So the fact that eli knew this, he was conscious and the motorcyclists called the cops and ambulance so our best judgement was to leave the scene. Better to split with his car and belongings than to stick around get arrested and have no way to notify his family. Our decision payed off. We retreated to the neighborhoods below the hill. I Looked through his cell phone and got a hold of his mom to let him know what was going on. We watched as firedept. trucks, ambulances, sherifs and hwy patrol rushed up the hill. Soon after he was airlifted out. We asked a bystander where the nearest hospital was and went there. After waiting and no arival I made some more phone calls to his mom and according to her he was airlifted to USC and sustained a compound fracture to his right leg. That was this morning. I spoke with his mom a few hours ago and he is also looking at a small break in his other leg and went through surgery this afternoon.
This is pretty serious people. STAY OFF THE HILL FOR AT LEAST A MONTH!!! If it wasn't hot with cops before it is now!!! AND STAY ON YOUR LANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best of wishes to Eli and I hope he makes a solid recovery
That really sucks to hear- best of luck to him. Did he get in any legal trouble?

I find it somewhat upsetting that you guys just left him, I don't know if I would have done the same, but the situation with the cops could have been pretty troublesome, at least someone stopped. Sounds like he was taken care of though, so no harm done. Best wishes to Eli, hope he gets through the surgeries alright as well as recovers and gets through any rehab quickly.
To answer a few questions. When he went down he pulled himself off the road right away. Jimmy driving the shuttle car stopped to make sure everything was ok. Eli was conscious and Talking as well as the guy on the motorcycle. By then Police and medical response were on there way, you could hear the sirens. It was obvious he need an ambulance. At this point there was nothing we could do. Our discussion to split made it possible for us to contact his mother, avoid arrest, avoid my car and his to get impounded and a whole lot of extra head ache he doesn't need right now. Last I heard hes doing ok and his belongings and car were passed on to his girlfriend.
In the near future im planning on doing a benefit race for him. Im pretty sure he doesn't have insurance and the helicopter ride bill alone is gonna be outrageous. As soon as I get things together ill post up.
