Sector 9 Race from Dregs Alpine

Ok, that makes sense. It just seems that alot of people have them. What is sector 9 trying to accomplish by keeping these off the market?

so this is pretty much the only way for me to be able to have another s9 race, because the original is so hard to get hold of i'll have to make a clone before i trash mine completely. i had to talk to my local store, who in turn talked to the swedish importer and was able to get two raceboards for our local store. One 38" and one 42". i got the 38" and a friend of mine got the 42". took about three months for me to get one, i actually talked to the swedish importer in person once just to make sure they wouldnt order that kommi piece of #### or that other one which is just a bombhills dropped thru.

do you guys think fiberglassing the clone is hard without any previous glassing experience? i have no acces to vaccuum equipment etc, just epoxy and glass, maybe even cf.

I notice a lot of people want a Sector 9 Race deck. People tell them to chop a Bomb Hills. A Dregs Alpine deck is VERY similar to the S9 Race. Same concave, same nose shape, same placement of the front wheel wells. The Alpine is just slightly thicker, not really noticeable.

It was raining today so I used jigsaw, sander, and drill to cut my Alpine and make a clone of my S9 Race.

because sector 9 dosent promote downhill skateboarding...theydont want to
they promote cruising
they dont promote dh because people get hurt doing it and you dont see little kids buying rayne they get s9 and cruiseeeeeee and surfff ittttt

I remember hearing a story once that went like this:

Sector nine started pressing race decks, giving them to select individuals. The decks rocked, people wanted them, the hype was born.

Sector9's original plan was to wait for the hype to build to epic proportions, and then start commercially selling the decks for HUGE PROFIT, because everyone on SF would want one. This was true for a short time, but that's where the story turns.

Sector 9 waited too long for the hype to build, and after it reached it's climax, it fizzled out. Race decks are still awesome, but not as many people REALLY WANT ONE in contrast to how many couldn't live without one a year or two ago. Thus, sector 9 realized their plot failed, and has stuck to releasing them to select individuals, in hopes the hype will build again.

so how different is the dregs 44 concave classic compared to the Dregs Alpine? other than a slightly different tail, does it have a similar concave and camber?

cause you might be able to do the mod on one of those too... anyone compare them side by side before?

If I cut the Alpine to only 42" instead of 38", would it still be almost exactly alike the S9 race 42". I'm a taller rider and much heavier but I wanna chop my Alpine to make it easier to carve.

Did you cut a 46" Dregs Alpine ?

On the dregsskateboards homepage it's looks like the Alpine 46" has a bit of chamber ? Or is it just an optical illusion?
