Wow, I would have never expected Comet to produce such a sick board!

Can someone re-post the specs of these prototypes? (There are only prototypes available to a few people right?)

Lets just wait until we get our boards for some porn pics A proper picture taken straight from the side to show the rocker would be cool though..

Okay, no pictures yet from me. but here are my initial impressions.

Set-up. 50* rII's jimz bottom, randall bottom as top. and the comet checkers.

the concave seems to really lock your feet in, the rocker by far makes it even more comfortable. i've ridden it for ten minutes, and had fun. not enough to really tell too much yet.

the only worries i have right now are what seems to be a minor imperfection in the mold/press process (one of the sides seems a tad "wavy") and that if i put larger wheels on it, in full lean that it may get wheel bite. I will eventually be putting 83mm used flywheels on it. I will also be putting 42* plates on eventually as well.

The flex is not flexy, it is a dead sort of pop. It is enough to help dampen and push back, but not enough to freak out a guy used to riding solid boards.

All in all, i'm stoked and can't wait to skate it some more.

    Great initial feedback.
Here is some info from Comet Labs.
The boards are a standard 8 ply maple. It is an easy flex to bench mark and get initial feedback on from everyone. We can all decide what kind of flex we want with the board (possibly 2 flexes) and we will dial in the materials usage accordingly.
Shape was designed to accommodate a 75 mm with 42 degree randals. That should give us a starting point to balance platform concerns with clearance issues. As of now we could include wheel wells and probably clear an 82-85 wheel...

I just stepped off this deck, and WOW, I'm in love. I've already crashed into a snowbank in the half hour that i rode it in the dark, and it's AMAZING. The flex is quite nice, and the concave/rocker combo is really makes you feel locked in. I was able to do shuv it's and manuals on the nose just messing around, and it felt very controllable during standup slides. I tried some standup toeside drifts, very easy to break out, and i could hook back up when i wanted.

ps. It's running 78-80mm wheels NO BITE

    now for some dirty pictures.

Looks a bit un-even pressed. but I'm sure thats just because the proto's were rushed out the door. Other than that it looks SICK!

Here are a couple more pics-ya just gotta love checkers. Rode it briefly around a parking lot before I gripped it, the shape felt instantly comfortable.

Nice to see the photos of the protos.
Loving the checkers - I see your vote is for naming it FSM.
Been riding mine. Its the easiest longboard to control that I have ever ridden. Heel and toeside drifts and hookups by just thinking it.
