This is killer too. Maybe I'm crazy, but I like the simpler layouts. Rodgon would definitely be considered one of my e-buddies so no hard feelings.

Bots, rogdon's, and fonsle's graphics are all great. They each keep to the theme of the deck while fulfilling different concepts. Anyone of these would be a winner.

Is there anyway to have a choice of graphics for the final product?

Rogdon, awesome graphic!

The second font is better but I think it should have the C logo and just say Comet. Or maybe just the C on the bottom and Comet on the top of the deck.

No offense, but who made you king-comet? You haven't even ridden the proto....

I think Rodgon has the colors down to perfection, but I don't like the idea of the monster. Something that has more with "fun time" to do would rock. If we have to have a spaghetti monster on the board, then I'm all for Rodgons, because he actually makes it look pretty cool.

I don't think people would be so keen on having a FSM(with a direct link to the spaghetti monster) board if they actually read a bit into the so called religion. Religion should always stay far, far, far away from skating. No matter if it's a silly one like the FSM or if it's even more stupid like some other religions we have.

Rodgon said he was unsure about what to do because the opinions were very mixed, I was simply trying to get people to post THEIR opinions in a organized manner so perhaps we could actually make some progress.

And I don't have to have to ride the deck to have an opinion about a fkn graphic...
And I seriously doubt the "religion" behind the FSM would affect anything ...

If you read a little bit you would quickly see that Pastafarianism is a mockery of Intelligent Design. Intelligent Design is a very controversial subject. Comet might have some reservations about using a graphic that could offend a good portion of this country.

As a spagnostic I love the FSM. However, I don't know if His Noodly Appendages make the best graphic choice for this skateboard, aesthetically or politically.

EDIT: I just realized you are from Sweden and, therefore, may not be familiar with the "debate" over Intelligent Design and evolution. My apologies for assuming you were from the United States. But, please, educate yourself on the matter at hand before suggesting that religion will have no affect.

Hello everyone.

This whole process is providing plenty of opportunity for all to be heard.

At present, we have at least 5 different "graphics" getting props. The artists here are getting great feedback and this is continuing to be a productive group process.

We are collectively designing a product that many people will be stoked to ride.

Rodgon's impulse to hold off on finalizing artwork at this point is sound until we vote...

Each of the graphics submitted have received feedback that would need to be taken into consideration before they go to print.

Art is one of those things that could divide this thread or unify it...

Our goal at Comet is to make sure that: if you like the specs of this board, you can get one to ride with graphics that mean something to you personally.

Thus far, the graphics seem to fit into 3 buckets.

One is Flying Spaghetti Monster specific.
RODGON, JKPVILLA

The other is more emblematic of our consensus based process
BOTO, FONSLE

Straight logo based.
JSHALVORSEN, The branded Comet C logo that is on the prototypes.

SORRY IF I MISSED ANYONE not intentional...

The artists that have submitted all get huge respect and big ups to you all. seriously.

At this point perhaps we should vote on "concepts and artists" not necessarily the artwork that is submitted.

The process would go similarly to how it worked for the naming. If you want to nominate an artist and a concept just place you nomination in a quick reply.
For Example:

Artist: Boto
Concept: Community

Artist: Rodgon
Concept: Monster

By the time we vote, there may be more artists and more concepts.
I propose that we have this vote on Sunday after we give some time for more submissions.

After we have an artist and concept, then we can give some ideas to the artist on how to finalize a graphic.

If it so happens that there is so much division that everyone wont be stoked, Comet is totally down to launch this board with up to 2 different graphics from this thread. If you are still not pleased with either 1 or 2 of the graphics that emerge your third choice is the branded Comet C logo and we will send you a free magic marker with your purchase.
