Comet- A freeride/fun time deck

Hey everyone. So I've been talking to Jason at Comet skateboards about making a new, freeride/slopestyle/whatever deck for their lineup. It will be symmetrical, drop through, have a waist for a hint of torsional flex, have the ability to handle 80mm wheels, be stiff, light, and fun. Rocker and comet concave will also be present. What we want to know are your ideas about this shape/concept, and what you think will make this a better board. Here's the tentative shape i drew up:


Any suggestions you have are great, we really want to see this go the way the 09 voodoo did. Thanks,

I don't like how the widest part comes before it would be optimal (I always think it should be right near the end)
Also it's nice if it was slightly different front and back ( maybe make the parts past the truck mounts different)
What is the wheelbase?

Well, symmetrical is nice when you're going switch...

good suggestion about the widest point, this is just a rough sketch. On the actual board it should be more of a continuous width on those sections.

ps. For a wheelbase, probably around 30.25-31. Any suggestions?

For the non simetricle thing I said, I mean like a little thing like the nose and tail being slightly different but wouldent affect the standing platform just if someone runs different bushings front and back they can tell the difference but the deck would still work perfectly with the front and back being the same.

Give it the concave and rocker like the pagan and it'd be nice. And standing close to trucks is important.

btw. This is Nick, we met at gravity fest last summer, I was the curly haired / red leathers guy who got the concussion right before racing started.

yes both. just give it a symmetrical graphic and then put the gas pedals on both right had edges. goofy footers can ride the board "backwards." i find myself riding switch all the time, so gas pedals on both edges would be nice

This sounds awesome! Feel like adding it to the sketch? I'm at school and don't have access to an image editing program.

basically you sand down the edge where your toe goes so you can get a little extra leverage, then grip over it.
