Default real difficulty doing this

Im not sure the name of the trick so ehres how i describe it.
i ride goofy, i want to squat down, and grab the board with my hand, and then jump with my board. maybe old school olly? well anyway, its the trick yous ee when people are flying down soemthing and they hit like a small lip or soemthing and they get air. i dont think i can bend the right way? like i cant do the one where my hand is grabbing the board on the heel side, but i can sort of do it with a toe side grab. i guess my guts in the way or soemthing, its much more difficult then i imagined. any tips?

Its kind of hard to explain o.O.

As you grab the side of your board, prepare yourself to rise up like you would squat and do a jump. Since you are already in a squat position, you pop up like you would jump. As you go up, you grab the board with you.

I think the "Trick" is called an early grab.

My explanation isn't that great, but i hope it kind of helps.

sounds like you need more practice. it's more of a momentum thing. I can do in off a speed bump or curb, but i can't do it on flat land. I always end up falling forward or only popped the nose up.

Yeah, i fell on my face last time i tried it on flat land. off a curb isnt too bad because all you really gotta do is jerk up on the nose at the right time and you should clear your tail.

hmm i changed the varation, i am goofy and instead of grabbing with my right hand, i grab with my left, strait down, and as im bending down, i throw my ahnd down and spring up. and i can do this on flat ground. just got back inside from trying it. im not sure how it will be off curbs lol or this sick spot i found at whittier college.

my friend does it this way, we took this yesterday.

Click the image to open in full size. but you seehow he grabs with his right, i woulddo it with the left. and grab center of board.

I put both my hands near the middle of the board and then just pull myself as low as possible and then just spring up. I find speed bumps to be the funnest.

I normally do this on my beefy madrid and when I tried it on my friends dervish it was much easier because you could push down and compress the board and it would shoot you up into the air
