At least thats what I call it.. I'm sure other folks have done this before.
For all intensive porposes I am going to asume you are doing this trick in normal stance, toe side.. of course it could be adapted to any stance or even heal side. I find it harder to keep rolling if I do it heal side though, I usualy come to a complete stop.
(I'll try and make this simple) Basicly what you want to do is skate up to a pole as fast as you can, aproach it on your toe side, and get into sort of a bend knee / surf stance. Now right as your about to pass the pole you wana grab it with your trailing hand (uphill) and turn as if you are going to make a circle around the pole.
Your board won't be able to turn as sharp as the radius that your arm is making it turn. Which in turn will cause you to go into a slide. Usualy a really big U-turn like 180 slide.. very fun.
This trick is pretty easy to learn, and is a great way to get used to the feeling of sliding in a lower posistion.. great way to work up to colemans and such.
BTW: if your trying to think of a good place to do this.. think basketball court.![]()
