foot placement for nose manuals?

Ive been riding the dancer for a bit and i have been able to rock some decent nose manuals.
Recently when i wanted to switch to try the nose manual on my dervish it was way harder, obviously because the nose is much smaller and have drop-thru trucks in the way of your foot.

Usually on the dancer i keep my front foot perpendicular to the board, but since the dervish has a small nose, i end up stepping on the wheel and eatin' some street.

If anyone has any special tips regarding front (or even back) foot placement, it would be a big help to me!

For me, the perfect front foot position is with my foot pointed nearly straight forward, with the ball of my foot just in front of the axle...
