heres one piece of advice. when attempting the slide you always have to be commited to making it! if theres any doubt in your mind you might not make it, you will mess up. still happens to me after a year of 180 slides. was on a narrowpath, had to do a 180 FAST to shave off speed, went for it but i didnt feel comfortable. slid the board 30° and fell. ouch.

make note to hang you heels over the edge (for fs stand ups) it makes it easier to break the wheels out. or try just hanging your back heel off a bit more. it gives you better leverage when you push your back wheels to break them loose.

put weight on your front foot, put your back foot more towards the heelside, and go a little faster than you think you do.

I started with check slides. the most common mistake I see is that people push down while trying to slide. It is important to push down and carve HARD before you slide and then lift your bodyweight up to start sliding, and push the board around.

I started with some small speedchecks, moved on to powerslide shutdowns, then eventually got into a full 180.

Just break in your wheels to the point that they don't hook up randomly.

Once you have that down, just do a hard heelside carve, with a lot of your weight on your front foot. The back wheels should break out and slide around. Then you can go faster, and have all four wheels break out. Same motion, same idea.

It takes a good bit of practice, but you will get it eventually.

By the way, I suggest picking a set of Gravity Drifters up. They will make your learning experience a good bit easier. I didn't learn how to do a full 180 till I got these wheels.

if youve never slid on a set of wheels before, the first thing you need to do is break them in...just a little. Before going about sliding, get going fairly fast and do hard carving until you hear your wheels make a little hiss noise and do that for a while. When you are ready to attempt a slide, you will need to be going somewhat fast the first time (its scary as balls, i know but its just how it works). Try to drift out a lot for your first slides in order to get the feeling of it, then you can work your way up by doing quicker 180's and doing them slower, or faster. I hope this helps
