First off, welcome to the world of longboarding; its always good to get new people. As for tricks, i would first star off the the cross-step.

just look up longboarding tricks on youtube and find your own style. i hope this helps

Cross-step and riding switch are two of the first things you should learn, since they give you a lot of opportunities to combine them with other tricks.
