you should be safe from wheelbite, platform is awesome, perfect length for it's purpose

Re: komodo help
my friend has one and its one of my favorite boards (my homemade dancer is a symmetrical version of the front half of the komodo) You may have to worry about wheelbite a little if you run 75mm wheels and really loose trucks but larry would probly cut wheelwells into the board to eliminate that problem for you. But excellent dancing platform, stable at speed if you are comfortable. It also balances very easy for me when manualing. Hope this helps a little

Re: komodo help
its a sick board, no wheelbite. My friend rode trucks on it so loose that his truck fell apart and he still didnt get wheelbite. platform is awesome, but the only thing that Larry could do to make it better is make the nose just slightly upturned because when i get into the groove of some manuals and get a really long one, sometimes my foot falls off.

It's the best board I've ever ridden, it's just so capable. I can tighten the bushing and bomb hills, loosen them up and dance all day and carve the hell out of the 180s....
If your unsure about the size, talk to larry and he will do a very nice 44" twin tip symetrical komodo....
Here is mine:

Do you get wheelbite with out the risers? or those are just protection for the board.

Re: komodo help
Im running my Komodo with Gullwing chargers with a khiro cones setup i get great carves with the amazing rebound and haven't gotten wheel bite yet. I'm riding orange bigzigs as well with mine, if you where considering getting the board however i would recommend getting an asymetrical version with the double nose the back of the board isn't as fair for shuv-it's. and as someone prevously stated i would love if larry put a little lip on the front of the board i have the same problem with my foot falling after getting great distance with my nose mannys.

The risers are mainly to dampen vibrations but also to protect the board, I can't get the wheels anywhere near the board on full turn, no chance of wheel-bite. Larry designed those cut outs perfectly!

Ok, I have one final question about the komodo, I am about 150 pounds, should I get the board with the extra stiffness or with out?

Re: komodo help
I would have to agree, I'd say unless you are near 200 or over then the standard option would be perfect.
Depending on what you want, a symetrical twin-tip 44" board is a popular choice for a custom komodo.

Re: komodo help
ive got the standard in black and blue, runnin paris 180s and abec 11 big zigs, and it is just ridiculously excellent. Soooooo versatile, and perfect for dancing. only thing i would liked better is just very slightly (and i mean VERY slightly) upturned nose and tail for a little more leverage, but thats just me. it is the best board ever in my humble opinion.
