Dancing on Originals?
I've got a hole in my quiver for a dancer. It seems that reverse kingpins are the favourite truck, but I was wondering if anyone uses something different. I've never ridden on Original trucks, how well would they work on a dancer?

Re: Dancing on Originals?
I have some S-10's, which are the most stable of original trucks, but the turning radius is so extreme that I doubt dancing would be very easy, talk to the guys at original to be sure, but i would not recommend originals for dancing trucks, no matter how much you tighten them. if you want a great pumping truck though, originals are the way to go.

Re: Dancing on Originals?
Original - no go for dancing trucks, imo. I find they are too tippy and hard to control while dancing. Im much happier on my paris'

Re: Dancing on Originals?
I've ridden a good number of originals and they are super turny (if that's a word). They do have the option of switching out the springs and I've ridden s-8's with the white springs (those are the stiffest) and it seemed pretty stable/danceable.

you will make u-turns while dancing on original trucks

Re: Dancing on Originals?
I learned how to dance on s-8's with the normal loosey goosey springs... Now that I have moved on, I don't know if it was the best setup or really a good idea, but I'll tell you I could balance on a tight rope now after having danced on those things for a few months

Re: Dancing on Originals?
My first board I learned how to dance on is the Apex 37 S8 Black Springs. I agree with Matt. You learn how to cross step and dance on this, anything else is a breeze. I do enjoy dancing on with the S8 trucks tho, just gotta get used to it.

rode some S8's today. the guys above are dead on. those things are a motherload of fun but I can't imagine dancing on them as opposed to my parises.
i enjoy skateboarding.

Re: Dancing on Originals?
i tried my buddy's original out the other day and did some cross-stepping on it. it's not too bad, a tad uncomfortable at first though. however, i will say that dancing would definitely look and feel better on paris and randal trucks. they're still super-carvy but they have a nice flow to them

Re: Dancing on Originals?
I don't wish to undermine anybody's thoughts or opinions, but there are such better alternatives to a Loaded Dancer. They are heavy, bulky, and not all that pleasant. But then of course heavy and bulky both go hand in hand with 'Big Freaking Board'.
As for Originals, they seem to dive extremely fast once you get them past a certain point. Rather than having a somewhat consistent resistance all the way through your turn, they tend to just drop, and your board leans an incredible amount in a very small amount of time, which will most likely throw you off.
Personally, if you're looking to dance comfortably, and if you like a surfy feel, you can get a very good danceability, and street surfability from a Gravity Hypercarve 47" with Bennett's. IF you can manage to be ok with the extreme height of that particular setup, it'd be fantastic for what you are looking for.
