Re: help me ollie!!!!
I learned a lot easier on a longer deck, for whatever reason. I was able to rock my 46" up 2 or 3 inch curbs when I had it. I found it was all about bringing the back foot up fast enough to allow the board to get air. I didn't even worry too much about the front, and some times didn't even push off the ground that much. Perhaps those were not proper ollies, but the same effect was gained.

Re: help me ollie!!!!
how r u learning it?
(how much time have u put into practicing?)
if u have a big fear of falling,
(fear makes weak ollies)
try static ollies on grass/carpet or floor mat over cement...
u should pop 6" with practice...
once u can do that, move to concrete....
now if I can only land those damn kickflips...

Re: help me ollie!!!!
its hard to tell you exactly where you're going wrong without a description or a video. if you can film yourself that would be awesome. or are you getting the nose up but the tail stays on the ground while your feet are in the air? a lot of the time, people screw up the timing. they jump as if they were on the ground, but you gotta be going up before your tail smacks the ground if that makes sense. so don't push of the ground, push off your board while pulling the front leg up.

that wasn't for you, that was for the op. that was actually the vid i looked for but didn't see it. most people learn better when they see something so youtube works a lot better than reading it here. reading about it can make you put too much thought into it. no need to overanalyze things, its just skateboarding.

Lifting the knees is always the hardest part for me...
I don't know why it feels so funny when I try it..

Re: help me ollie!!!!
lol I can help you here as this is the only shortboard trick I learned before I moved on to longboarding (much better IMO 8) )
I imagin the pop as a hard jump of my back foot, pushing the tail down and quickly pull my foor up after, this is an area loads of people mess up on, then while pulling up your knees, drag your front foot forwards.
always lean forward as you do it but dont over do it. also dont move your back foot out of the way like my friend used to do

Re: help me ollie!!!!
figured it out! aside of doing it over and over again, for me the breakthrough was mentally visualizing stomping the landing. I was so caught up on popping the tail and leveling the board that i wasn't concentrating on the landing it. Once in the air i wasn't ready to complete the move. Now i can. 7/10 times while stationary, 6/10 while rolling. Very satisfying.

Re: help me ollie!!!!
It took me a few years to learn how to ollie while moving... of course, I didn't have youtube or people to show what to do...
My advice... practice. You will eventually get it.
