Footbraking.
Okay; some may not call it a "trick", but it's tricky, and it'll keep you alive.

Any method of stopping. Carving, sliding, speedbreaking, footbreaking, etc.
If you haven't read this page -> http://www.silverfishlongboarding.co...41444786<br /> then do so. It's just some good tips on how to stop. It may not really be tricks but certainly a huge asset.

tricks are for kids . . . and shortboarders.
don't worry about learning tricks, just ride. learning tricks defeats the whole purpose of longboarding. enjoy the feeling u get, not the size of your bag of tricks.
and if you need to learn something to appease yur soul, maybe we'll call them skills. like knowing how to slide is a skill, not some trick. it's a valuable asset to your skating ability.

lame
Tricks are fun on any board. The purpose of any skateboarding long or short is to have fun.
You can't hang a man, for killing a woman, who was trying to steal his board.

longskatedude: While what you posted may in one sense be true, it doesnt really help does it.
furiouscarolyn: Some of my personal favorite tricks that i like to try are hang fives and hand tens. Maybe then id suggest wheelie fives, wheelie tens and maybe even a one footed wheelie fives. Try em and have fun, just like me !

get a free account from Photobucket.com and then just upload the pictures after adjusting the quality and size of them so there under 250kb but photobucket does it automatically but you can do better by yourself then post them

I can see it's been a while since you first wrote this request. So you've no doubt improved.
However I did notice that you complained about wearing out your leg.
To reduce that single pumping leg strain, your next skill could help you in all your boarding.
Begin to teach yourself to pump with both legs. One at a time of course.
The way I tought myself was to only pump with my "weak leg" for a week. Then after I felt comfortable with that, I began to trade off, from one leg to the other. Four or five "strokes" per leg.
After a while it became second nature. Now, if I have some distance to cover, I trade off without thinking about it. I was car-less in Hawaii, but had my longboard so I used to travel from Pearl Harbor to Waikiki about three times a week.(+- 12 miles one way)( can't take a board on "THE BUS")
The "next big hurdle" is to teach youself to skate regular AND goofy footed, AND to start off with you foot on the back OR front of your board.
SO, by the time you've mastered these skills you can walk on water like me...NOT. You'll just be able to jump on your board, no matter witch way it's moving OR witch way your facing. There will be no Faky for you.
That'll take you till about next week, so.... get at it! JUST KIDDING!
Took me about a year to get really good at it. :P
Is it a board or a part of your body?
If it\'s a board... when your my age... you\'ll be golfing.

yay, Tofu. I guess the "skills" that are really nice to know is braking, pumping and boardwalking.
