I want to be able to do this on my dervish. I've tried doing this on some very low carpet in my office, but I haven't had much luck. Do you think it's easy to swing the board around on the pavement? I'm a little chicken to try it on the pavement...

You should try learning to revert first. once you can pivot on the nose 180 you'll realize how important the front foot is to the trick it will come a little easier that way
I can do them on my vanguard. The problem however, i have to be going no faster than walking speed which makes it pretty lame. they definitely lack style without the pop and catch on a shortboard. not a trick worth learning in my opinion.
Great post! Nice to see people are actually skating the absurd amounts of gear they're buying! My idea of a shuv-it is still based in street skating. You definetly can't pop-shuv a board with no kicktail! Been wanting to get these down for a while now. It's definetly going to happen this spring now that you've shown me this. It's always great when you're working on a trick and it kind of clicks in your head what steps need to be taken to make it happen. Then like you so graciously did you showed it to all of us chumps who are still scratching our heads. At first I was like "What no verbal explaination?" Then I saw it broken down and realized none was needed!

I don't think It lacks style since you are rotating 38"board with no tail basically..
It's one big swing motion rather than tossing a coin IMO.. and you can always work on busting it at faster speed.
I'm practicing doing at faster speed.
