stand-up slides...

ok call me a big kook and kick me in my shins repeatedly if there is already a thread on this, but lately i've really been pulling these off. i started yesterday on my S9 flexy (180's, 78a krypto racecores in the front, cliff sliders in the back)...i started by getting low as if i were going into a heelside slide (but in the middle of the deck), i'd wind my body toeside a little, and whip my arms and body around heelside, and kicking my back leg outwards (as if i here pushing a half-cab out) breaking me into a 180 slide. at first i got tossed a couple times, luckily i was smart enough to wear pads (actually kinda gave me the balls to try some decent speed stand up slides) i got it down once or twice though. i've been watching sergio yuppies slides but he just makes it look too easy. anyone got any pointers? i think i've got the idea but anything will help. i'm gonna go try some here in a little bit.

ok so i got the stand-up slide down, i can pull it off heelside at kicking speed...crouched down or standing up...i just can't figure out what to do afterwards when im fakie. i've tried popping it back around (you try a toeside standup slide riding switch) but i only get it half way around and i bust my arse. i can pull fakie ollies out of them though, i felt like a cool kid when i stuck a few of those. i can't even ollie that deck regular, can't explain why it's so much easier fakie. i'm pretty stoked though, i'm so stoked im still learning new stuff. im also learning to throw a little bit of street tricks in there on my S9...im really liking this setup, i might have to go ride the park around here when i get back from Jersey. oh yeah, i'll get some videos for you fools once my boy gets a day off and we can shoot.

Thats why I pulled out my airhooks started stomping 180 lexx's back to reg from fakie, then I got annoyed by them and just learned fakie slides, but I still have yet to try this new fanagled stand up stylie I can't wait man! It's been 4 months since my 35mph bail and I have come a long way with my slides nailed my first few full pendyahlums few days ago, also managed to ride up banks and do a full 180 2 hand toe side back down. as soon as my jaw heals I am going to start working on my stand up.

Do a little body varial so your going the right way but the board isnt, then slide it round to right way and jump back round again.

kai we gotta skate sometime, hell that goes for all you va skaters. skating perfect garages by myself is gettin' old. once i get my license back in the fall i'll have to head out that way.

stand up slides are the most daring thing I can think of... I kinda messed around with some last night until the sole of my shoe ripped off. Then I stopped. Gunna get some new shoes at dsw then try again tonight

it was suspended until i was 18...i got in some trouble when i was younger, then was just lazy and never found time to go get it, for the past year. but yeah, i hear you...it'd be cool to skate with some people out here.

as for standup slides, i'm also starting to do these kickturn slides, which i'm thinking are starting to look like those 2 wheeled slides you see sergio whippin' out. i go into the toeside kickturn, and push the end around by pushing my foot on the end of the inside rail.
