I wanted to know which boards out there, besides modern day street decks are good for doing ollies. I'm old school so I am somewhat comfortable on a shape in the area of around 33x9 or so..
Some "pool style" decks I've tried have that "comfortable shape", but don't have a steep enough tail and I just can't seem to pop them. Also some 80's reissue decks are just too wide and flat, they seemed great back then, but now I think something more modern would work better. So let me know what you guys use for cruising but will also let you pop up a curb.
An upturned kicktail alone does not an ollieable board make. The relationship between the location and steepness of the tail in relation to to the truck mountings is paramount.
Brian Petrie used to skate street; so pretty much the entire double-kick Earthwing lineup is designed to be instantly ollieable by old street skaters. You should reserve special attention for the Thruster, the Jessica Corchia, and the Bigfoot, as they're stiffer and poppier than the 5-ply/plastic models.
Word......still got a bag of tricks, may be dusty, but still got a nollie hardflip, and swamp-rats in the bag. and if you don't know what a swamp rat is, let's start a new "official swamp rat thread"
