Ive heard that the Tracker Rts/x combination is really good for getting mad air. Get the 106mm, its lighter so you can go higher.
Now for boards, you really should look at putting those trucks on the Ed Economy. The larger size will make your airs more controllable, and the beefy kicktail will pop very well. Go buy those things now, dont question my knowledge or you will be sorry.

You can attach skyhooks to your board if you want to get air. I think I've read that some boards don't accept skyhooks though for some reason. I may be wrong. Thick, chunky wheels will help you land better - not sure which brand to recommend though. Also, I'd say get tight trucks that don't flex too much...that should provide a more stable landing.

dude, for early grabs off stiuff i just use my deathbox ruml rum runner, but it know what to get for air: powell. a power ripper with indy 169, med bushings, and some BDS wheels, double or single conicle. that with some reds would launch you off anything. plus its a flat enough board to through skyhooks on a really bust mad air. and the best part is that board would also rip on everything from pools, to parks, to just street slides and powerslides.

Get a board with a nose, tail and concave. I like indy 169s and trackers. The trucks dont really matter. (dont use a slalom or downhill truck) get some wheels 60-65mm in the 90's duro. Make sure your wearing your tony hawk underwear.

If you dont have any, then go with tracker 106 rts/rtx on an ed economy?
You can't hang a man, for killing a woman, who was trying to steal his board.

Any board can "accept" skyhooks as long as you have the right size of drill bit and some hardware. It doesnt have to be attached to your trucks you know

I use pivots and the 76mm sector nine wheels, they work pretty good but you need big risers or at least more than one or you'll get wheel bite.

i bent an axle on my pivots catching air off the hip at the park. a front axle. i bent it back, hopefully it will stay. i guess pivots are good in that they are throwaway trucks. when they are destroyed i wont miss them. but other than the bend they have actually been ok at the park.

it's a good thing that I don't know what that means right?
The sage, Longboard Buddha once said, "A tree spends 100% of its lifetime in a static environment and only after its reincarnation as a deck is it allowed to move at fast speeds...
when allowed, the wood will give thankless service if
    allowed to flow."
