Cracked this after loads of practice so giving away easy tips.......................
Keep trucks and knees loose.no flow equals no go
Start on smooth hill.....no momentum and board spits out from underneath.
Keep weight over grounded foot during moves.......
Regular footed start on left side of hill, feet 90 degrees, back foot well across back truck,
Start downhill then carve toeside over to right, bring front foot back so heels touch and foot at 45 deg across board, start to turn heelside,
As board faces downhill again bring backfoot round across knee and place parallel to right foot (both 45 deg acoss board) dig in heelside and carve back across to left,
Dig in toeside and as board faces downhill again bring back foot(right) behind knee and place on front of board 90 deg, stamp back with back(left) foot landing 90deg over back truck...
Repeat till it becomes thoughtless...........
ya im actually starting to get decent at it. I actually started on a flat smooth surface (tenis court). The thing that helped me the most was keeping my crossing foot facing straight forward. waaay easier to balance

Re: CROSS STEPPING / CARVING - How to
one thing that really helped me was this
i noticed that when putting all my weight on one foot, the weight would be concentrated on a specific area of my foot, be it ball/heel/side/toes etc. and it would turn out sketchy. distribute your weight evenly throughout your foot so it feels the same as you standing on one foot and bending a bit. sorry it might seem a bit vague but it really keeps me stable.

personally, i dont have my feet pointing forwards or sideways. for me, placing them diagonally at about 45 degrees is a perfect position for me. Also, when first starting out, just do the foot motions. once you get better at those then you can try to do carving as well.
i started cross stepping everywhere, i fell a lot, but i have it down now. it's really important to keep you center of gravity over your placed foot though.

I want to learn. I suppose I could try on my LDP... well it'll be ready by the weekend anyway.
