I'm back with some more footage of longboarding and freebording. Again I want to stress for the beginning that I am not saying one is better then the other, just displaying the ride of each. Do not let the "vs" make you think it's a competition because I don't want another 5 pages hate towards both sides. One of the long boarders in the video is from this forum and the other is my roommate. We all get along so lets try to here
Not a bad video, but I would have put someone who at least knew a few moves on the longboard.
Did ya watch the whole thing? There was one hand slide done by the kid from these forums. He's the best person at slides at our college, that I know of anyway.
nice vid as usual monterevolt. been a while since i have watched any freebording.
i hate how people dis on freebords. they are a sick ride, i just have gotten more serious with longboarding and don't use my freebord. if you know anyone who wants one let me know.
Is that you and your friend? If it is thats really good. I wish I could ride with some people like that because I've never seen anyone in person who can stand up slide. In my opinion the freebord still can have a much more controlled slide while keeping speed. For Example:

"more controlled" is a relative term, sliding on a longboard is totally different than a freebord. you dont have as much of a friction barrier to break on a freeboard, you pivot and the primary wheel pivots with you and continues to roll in the same direction you are traveling in. granted the secondary wheel(s) slide along, but it is not the same as on 4 fixed wheels.
apples and oranges

friends of mine...
I used to ride with that guy when i was leaving in SF...
Something about the setting and people invovled in this film and the song playing in the background seem to clash to me....

on a fast hill, no skateboarder have the speed modulation of a skill freeborder.
I have ridden with that guy Scrub in that video, he makes it look so easy...
on the flipside, i hate the way freebord rides, they scare me...
and they are real slow on mellow hills and don't stick sharp turns..
You know Scrub? I've only know him from the forums but he seems cool. He definitely makes it look much easier then it is. Yea its a still on it's own to get around flat parts on a freebord but with practice it's very doable. It'll never compete with a longboard for transportation though.
