Is that about the Casio camera that uses it video stream to create a 60-frame burst. Pretty gnarly and amazing. Great to see how things are being pushed with technology.
I'll stick with a genuine dSLR for skate shots, though.

This technology is amazing.
Can't say I'll be willing to spend that kind of money on it, but I'm very interested nonetheless.
The ability to shoot high speed, hd movies is incredible.
my d200 goes through a 512mg card in about 10 seconds at 5fps. ok that's not a very big card these days - but that casio is shooting 12 times faster.
jeez, even a cinematic quality digital video camera only shoot at 25-30fps.
how do you decide which photo is "the one?" hold the trigger for ONE SECOND and you've made 60 images to choose from. that's a whole lot of time sitting in front of a computer...
high fps rate isn't that great unless you have way too much time on your hands to sift through and process images. i've watched journos shoot 5 shot bursts with their super-fast 9fps Nikon D2's and Canon 1DS's to miss people blinking and stuff... but you have to go through all those images afterwards! fine if it's your job, not fine if you'd rather be outside taking pictures or whatever...
...and most sequences are fine at 9fps, or slower. imagine trying to look at a 2 second sequence in a magazine consisting of 120 photos! or even 60 photos, or 30 photos... the images would be tiny. what's the point...
i think i'll keep my d200 at 5fps, or even my bronica ETRSI - i reckon i can get about 0.05 fps out of that what with all the film crank winding, manual metering, manual focus and loading a new film every 12 shots... badass!!
The real professionals still use 4x5's. A 4x5 negative and a great scanner are the best combo you can have. When we buy digital, all we pay for is convenience, and ease of use...but nothing wrong with that, right? Besides, nobody's going to be using a 4x5 for skate pictures...lol.
