(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- In traditional skateboarding parlance, a ''ripper'' is a performer who consistently excels at their game. And given the spectacular reviews they're earning for their sexy turns in Brad Armstrong's House of Wicked, it's a label that can easily be applied to Wicked Pictures contract superstars Alektra Blue and Mikayla Mendez.

With this in mind, it's all the more fitting that these brunette beauties are kicking off their upcoming Erotica L.A. 2009 appearances by presenting trophies tomorrow evening at the 11th Annual Transworld Skateboarding Awards at the Avalon in Hollywood. 2009 AVN nominated director Van Styles - whose longtime association with the skateboarding community led to the company's involvement - will be in attendance as well.

Produced by Transworld SKATEboarding, the sport's top magazine, the event will find Alektra and Mikayla on-stage throughout the evening, escorting winners and presenting trophies to some of the sport's top athletes.

In a prepared statement, organizers of the event revealed that they will be ''presenting awards to professional skateboarders in the categories of Best Rookie, Best Street Skater, Best Transition Skater, Best Team, Best Video, Best Video Part, Best Two Video Parts, TWS Readers' Choice and the TWS Legend Award.''

This awards show appearance comes at a time of peak visibility for both ladies. They can currently be seen in the acclaimed House of Wicked, which is now available in stores nationwide, and last Wednesday they wrapped their roles in Brad Armstrong's most ambitious project of 2009, the spectacular cyberpunk adventure 2040.

Wicked Pictures wishes the TWS nominees success in tomorrow night's show, and invites attendees to join the sexiest rippers in the game for more festivities this weekend at Erotica L.A. 2009.

When my 14 yr old son brought home porn, (I found it in his back pack) I was more upset with the poor quality of the porn.

Anyway..porn stars are crossing over to everything. Porn stars have been showing up in main stream films and TV shows. (See Tracy Lords) So why not the skate industry too?

That being said I personally find that any time you have too many models involved with a product. Your customer forgets what the product is.....

Come on Michael, the skate industry is not heaven sent. The feed on profit like every other company. The skate gods at TW are no different than you or I. In the non skate world women are the ones to bet on, to market for. In the world of skating, young acne'd faced boys with emo haircuts and nerve damaging tight jeans are the gold the standard.

I am a little more liberal, boys will be boys.

The next good argument will be: Is porn the gateway to drugs, cigs and alcohol? (Cigs, drugs and alcohol are already part of the 11-16 teen/middle school experience skate or not)

The ad's in skate zine's (insert any zine) know no morals. Do the face's behind the skate zine's have morals/ethics? Is there such a thing?

Used to see a lot of that at InterBike as well. But over the last few years, there have been fewer and fewer booth girls, and last year the biggest crowds were trying to get a look at the Cervelo P4 and Fuji D-6. Guess you don't need models to attract/distract the crowd when you've got an innovative product...
