damn that is such a let down. if you cant trust your friends, then who can you trust. hope they get what they deserve. that was grand theft. sadly with todays system, they will have the records sealed after the sentence has been served, and they pay the $120 fine to close them. they they will look as clean as a whistle, even it they are still trash on the inside.
^^^ and i have nice things, they are just always in my house, or locked up in my truck. i also engraved my cindrich with my name and contact info... so if someone steals it, they have to basically mare it to loose its identity.

Engravings not such a bad idea, even for wood.
Sorry to hear about that Big Daddy. It sucks when its someone you trust.

Re: the dirty not so little secret that is RUINING skate events: thievery!
yeah, you could do it yourself, or have your local jeweler do it. i know my old college the cops (we had real police as campus cops, though they were the nicest ppl i knew) would lend you their engraving stuff so you could do that. so check with your college and see. also check out your art department if your in school. they may have to tools.
i dont know how well it would work for wood. it would need to be deep for that, at lease a couple of layers otherwise it could be sanded. even then it could be sanded and filled, then refinished.
just make sure it in an obvious spot, not blocked by the trucks, or tape. you want it to be seen, so that it is easily identifiable as yours.

This really grinds my gears b/c while we ARE fellow longboarders, some people can be really f-ed up, and will resort to doing alot of dumb things to their own brothers and sisters. I know we wish everyone was as kind and pure as we want them to be but this is real life; if you got stuff that is expensive or valuable, learn to lock that sh.i.t. up!! People will try to steal it! I mean, this is common sense. Dont be so naive to think nothing is gonna happen to it. Im not saying its ur fault for losing it, but maybe this has taught you a valuable lesson to TAKE BETTER PRECAUTION OF YOUR STUFF NEXT TIME.Consider it a life lesson learned.
p.s. find the thief the and beat them down w/ stick. Then 180 pendy onto their face.
I know you are only talking but attempted murder or assault with a deadly is a worse crime than someone taking a board or whatever. Yeah the person sucks but what yoour sugegsting is worse.

Re: the dirty not so little secret that is RUINING skate events: thievery!
tht seriously sucks. the thing that really scared me about taking somebodys board or whtever is the the frickin skate karma. Dude i knew in high skool stole a guys board out of his back yard, and not even a week after he sprains his ankle and gets it run over by a car. Dont mess with skate-karma... it is swift and powerfull
(bike video was great)
Im selling all my skateboarden stuffz

Re: the dirty not so little secret that is RUINING skate events: thievery!
Recently went to a new skate place with a new skate buddy from online.
He says "We've never had anything stolen from here" and leaves his slide board at the top of the slope.
I say "With my luck the first thing ever to get stolen will be my spare board" and I leave it locked in the car.
Afterwards I wonder "Am I just being paranoid?" Well maybe, but I do still have my spare board so all's well that ends well.
