    Well professional skateboarders were never known to be rocket scientists. And being surrounded by other people like them who don't care about throwing themselves down huge sets, I don't think they look to the future too much. Ask those dead guys if they would have given up the partying if they could have. I don't know what they would say, since they're dead, but not every death is a sad one. I doubt all those guys wanted to live past 30, they hardly wanted to be able to walk past 25.

    Slops57, you are missing the point of the actual article. Yes, they died because of playing silly buggers. The author just wants to see those around (the industry/sponsors/mags) take a stand so this doesn't keep happening.

    It's hard for a lot of top skaters today, not only do you have to skate extremely well, you have to show the world that you are the ####! You HAVE(?) to party hard and do stupid antics.
    Kids will always try do outdo one another.

    An unnecessary death is just that, unnecessary.

    BTW, death by drinking (accident or consumption) is not the same as dying from some disease. Most drink related deaths can be avoided.
