i think i said this before but wether or not they deserve it be polite to the cops.., pick up your skateboard and walk away.., most cops got better #### to do then file a report/ go to court/ testify about kids "SKATEBOARDING"..., once you open your pie hole and start to challange them you have begun a battle you can't win ( unless someone has a video camera and he say's some stupid #### like " I'll break your arm" then you may be able to dish it back out, maybe? ) these cops are trained to take control and dominate the situations and a 110 lb skater mouthing off is always going to end bad.

with that said i have three rules in life:

    1. Cars are real
    2. Righty tighty, lefty loosey
    3. Police are the enemy
long boards and short girls are my favorite things to get on and ride.

    This is the reality.
That situation was not to be won on the street. If the kid had gotten the threat and the boot without being prefaced with his loose lips, they could've at least made things uncomfortable for the officer later in court. Especially with the video. I'd bet a new deck that poor kid has issues all the time, never his fault but always a result of his mouth. You can't fix stupid.

Ever heard the one about an alligator mouth versus a hummingbird butt?

It's not a video about skateboarding, it's a video about a bunch of kids unable to find any interesting terrain to skate and busted by a cop full of zeal in the very place they met in the first place.
Once again, if you use skateboarding to mark your territory, you will have this kind of problem.

i guess your right telling a 15 year old kid your going to break his arm is O.K. if he has a smart mouth..,

never heard the one about the alligator and the hummingbird.., but i know the one about the scorpion and the frog.

This is the first cop vs skater vid I've seen where I've entirely agreed with the cop's actions. Maybe the arm thing was a bit iffy but it looked like he was just going to move them on untill he insulted him. Then once the kid was arrested he was letting the others go but they followed him and started giving him trouble, as did the other douches that turned up. There wasn't much else the cop could do; stern but fair

Very stupid to challenge a cop like that in the street. Almost as stupid as banning skateboarding in an entire city.

Agreed , Smart off to a cop in the street and you're asking to get F###ed with. There is no good outcome once it reaches that point . Lesson " don't let your steamboat mouth overload your row boat butt "

If I heard / read right skateboarding is banned in San Fran county . Amazing !

You can walk down on Falon street and see every form of deviant behavior imaginable but that's OK ! You'd think the police would have had more important stuff to worry about.

Sure everybody "wants" to but sometimes descretion is the better part of valour !
Hey the guy was going to let them go. Then dumb ass had to open his mouth to look like a big man for his peeps. That solved a lot. It certainly reaffirmed the cops mentality that skaters are nothing but big mouth punks.

Anyone who interferes with a cop doing their job is a moron. That off camera voice was not part of the group. It was a concerned citizen, who thought they were doing some good, when in reality they were escalating the issue. If they were smart they would have called 911 and asked for a supervisor to come out because an officer was being abusive. In actuality he wasn't being abusive. If that kid was putting any type of resistance weather it was passive (dead weight) or active (pulling away/fighting) the officer has the right to use pressure point control tactics to bring him under control. This involved pain and reward. You resist and you get pain. You go with the flow and it doesn't hurt. This is how you are trained in the academy. You are supposed to use that along with a stern voice. If you are affecting an arrest or even putting your hands on someone you have to be at a level of control above that person. This officer did nothing wrong in that respect. The only thing I saw wrong was there was 5 or 6 skaters. He should have had at least one other officer there since he was arresting someone. Especially when that other person started to complain. He should have called for another officer as a witness if nothing more. He wasn't trying to hide anything though. He willingly asked for the person off camera to file a complaint and gave up his badge # without batting an eyelash. People who have a fück the police attitude are gonna call them for help as soon as a crime is committed against them, so I hate that tough guy attitude against police. I don't like a lot of cops so I do what I can to stay off the radar. You don't have to approve of everything they do but if you want to steer clear? STOP BREAKING THE FÜCKING LAW.

The laws that cop is supposed to be protecting, allows that kid to voice his opinion of said cops actions however he sees fit without causing harm to another person. He was never physically resisting. And the cop was WAY out of line.

he still has a great case in court, smart mouth or not.

The kid broke the law . End of story . In court that's what is going to happen Smart mouth or not.

Sure he has a first amendment right ... Unless his intent is to incite a crowd which the cop could make a case for since there were several other skaters in the group.

If the cop was being a prick up front then sure call a prick a prick but, when he's trying to cut you some slack don't jerk the chain .
