Apple iPhone App ...need your ideas for contest...

I love the bushings reference chart idea.
As an aside, charts/reference guides for basic set-ups like DH, LDP, and casual cruising.

I like the 'geotagging' idea as well.
Since we're working with the GPS, what about a speedo that records and charts basic info.

I'd guess flyers in skate shops would be the least expensive, most direct to the target audience approach.

How about a GPS program that you could start, and then put the device in your pocket. Then when you are ready to do your run, it records real-time data such as mapping the run and the speeds you hit at specific areas. Then if you are happy with your results, you can upload them to Google Earth. That way anyone can log in and see Longboard runs in areas world wide. Man could you imagine? I am going to East Bumblefoot North Carolina and want to know about any good skate areas. I log in and bam they are all there including directions to the spots. You could also map out all the good shops that carry longboard equipment as well as rider friendly parking structures and skateparks. Man the ideas are endless here. You could call it the Fishfinder lol. A little play on an actual fish finder. And if forum members wanna have a get-together they can upload their status in the area. You could just log in and see where your local Fishers are.

as awesome as that is, that also leaves the opportunity for cops to locate popular skate spots.

not saying it would shut the spot down, but it does increase chances of a spot being shut down.

how about we create a oober secret coding system to label runs that are legit, and others that are merely fakes?? we could make our own language or something, and then create a cult, and then... world domination!

Sounds like a great app. GPS based speed/distance logging would most likely be popular.

It is popular. my friend has it on his iPhone, the program is called "Pocket Dyno" or something like that. It's intended for cars and has features for that, but it wouldn't be too hard to do something similar for skating.

+1 for bushing duro database (for the obsessive slalom tweakers).

Timing sheets for slalom/ DH runs: No more oversized laptops or clipboards and chewed pencils.

Auto-start/end stopwatch function, for lone slalom sessions (or for when you forgot to carry your pressure-switches, ductape, start ramp, laptop etc...)

3. After I pay Apple and the royalty to the developer, I am left with 60 cents. I will share half of this amount with the good folks who run da Fish! Yep, that means they will get 30 cents.

If 50,000 people download this application, that means $15,000 for Silverfish. Not too shabby!

We'll make a formal announcement soon...but I wanted to seed this here and get your feedback
