I've got a couple of his books on architecture and there is a picture of him skating in the back of one. Mr. Kahn is a hell of a guy. He'll make you want to build your own house. If anyone is interested, the books I've read are Shelter and Home Work. Some cool looking places to live in.I think I might have sean a video of him skating somewhere.
I get a kick skating with my children now, and when the day comes I'll skate with my grandchildren.
I have hope in the future everytime I see an old guy on a skateboard. Hopefully we can all be like Lloyd!

I lost this thread in a senior moment, I have been looking for it for a few days now, and how cool to find it again.

I could not agree more with the all the writers, the skateboarding/longboarding is not what it was when I was a kid. Regardless of what you ride, it is still a blast! And it feels way cool!

I have kept really active throughout my life, so this has come back fairly quickly, and to be honest, I have put few limits on what I thought my possibilities might be. I was actually figuring that age 60 might be might cut off, or maybe when I could actually slide the board with any kind of control or style. But now, I guess I need to read the thread about the Landyahtz Chinook, I thinking that would be pretty sweet ride for an "older gentleman" rider!

I have not written on many of the threads, but I do read most of them. There is still so much to learn.

    Lloyd is my hero.

He contributed a very cool story for my book, "The Skateboarder's Journal - Lives on Board 1949-2009".

I've got the Big Stick and it's pretty cool. I got the 6' one (I'm 6'1), and I think it's a little too long - it torches the shoulders. Wicked fun, though.
