Default sad note posted up at Skull and Bones...from a skate shop owner

    Wow, what a sad posting...

Wife called today at the shop and proceeds to tell me that she hates:

My shop (skate shop) and the debt it's brought.
Her job and that fact that she's the bread winner.
Our town and wants to move.
    everything about her life.

She's talking about leaving. I'm freaking out to say the least. Yes, the shop has debt, but we knew going in that there would be. Three years in biz in this economy wasn't going to wipe that out. Granted, it's been slow for the last few months and I haven't been able to bring home but about $5-600 a month so I told her I'd try to find a job to work in the mornings before the shop opens to supplement. Not enough. I'd chunk everything and close it up, but we just upgraded and opened in a new store location (with a 2 year lease) this summer. It's a great location across from a public skatepark and we were doing great until school started, then it dropped off a good bit (that's standard though). We are still getting started here and I really think this location will be great in the long run...but if she's not onboard I don't know...

I've been trying to work with our bank on getting a small business loan to consolidate our shop debt and take some of the pressure off, but that's not approved yet. I'm probably screwed if that doesn't go through. I guess I'll have to keep hitting up banks until one gives. I really don't want to go the bankruptcy route, but would if I could do it without losing the house.

I don't know. I feel like I'm screwed any way I turn. I know that in comparison to some the problems are not that monumental, but in my world, they are. I'm completely freaked out. Mainly because this is the first time she's ever talked like this in 16 years of marriage. I don't know. I'm just hoping for some good advice, words of wisdom, or some good vibes sent my way. I'm dreading heading home tonight.

    Needs to ditch the wife.

If he can sell her for money even better.

yeah, but then he'll loose his main source of income.

then again he could get a man cave (apartment) or live in his store.

life could be better without the bitch

my wife tells me every week for the last 11 yrs that she is leaving.
i give her the same answer every time which is dont let the door hit you in the ass and after your gone can you me and my new girlfriend have a three some.
sounds like his wife is just feeling financially burdened and a bit depressed.
whats the guys store, maybe if he does online businesses we can offer a flow his way ,even ordering some bushings ,bearings or hardware, a tee shirt or whatever sounds like it could help him out of a jam.
financial burden can really take a toll on a relationship, but chances are if she never mentioned this in 16 yrs then his wife is just having a bad day.

Personal responsibility for one's choices is dead and buried, even in something as simple as a plank with four wheels.
