man do i hate when i hear or see people online talking crap about tony hawk...those who do have never really paid attention to what the man is and stands for. A legend, icon and role model to follow for all we should all in our own way try to be like him.

    His book is awesome

You can bag on Tony all you want, I still think he's cool and I would tell him to his face in a total non-geeky hetero way.

Sure he made a ton of money from skateboarding, so what. He earned it. And just because he has good marketing skills and knows how to play the game with the suits, it doesn't make him any less GNAR! He started out just like you and me - sucky! But he kept at it and got good.

I come from a different generation and a different Tony and to me, Hawk is one of those young kids. But talent is talent, and not being a stuckup dick is not being a stuckup dick! Hawk seems like just a regular guy - a skater - who just happens to be really good.

Man, don'tcha just gotta love the direct, brute honesty of little kids?!?! That's some funny stuff, right there!

Maybe that "Embarassed [To admit he's a skater]" dude on that other thread ought to check this out.
