c-o-w-b-o-y-h-a-t-s, just wait!!
My comments represent a selfishly one sided 1970's skateboarder mindset, and do not reflect the current fashion-skate-lifestyle industry's views.

29,625 shares at an average of $25.01 each = $740,984.98

math was never a strong point...but yes, bam bam, you are right
good INVESTMENT
Volcom done good. Really good.
the problem I have with it is that Volcom took a saying, in this case
"youth against establishment" and rode the Hypocrisy Highway till the freakin' wheels came off.

I don't get it. So your mad that Volcom took this slogan and made money? What were they supposed to stay "poor and core"?
Anarchy has been for sale since everyone figured out they could cash in on it years ago.
Look at Hot Topic.
Volcom at least gives back- they've built alot of skateparks, sponsor riders in surfing, skating and snowboarding, make video's and hold contests.
Are we supposed to boycott all these companies because they make money?
So you want skateboarding to grow, but nobody's allowed to make any money at the same time?
Yeah, I know "hardgood manufacturers need to make more money, not the softgoods manufacturers". But nobody's going to buy any more hardware if they don't know skateboarding exsists. And if skateboarding culture isn't advertised like it is now through clothing company's and goes back to being underground, like it did in the 90's, those hard goods company's are going to be alot worse off. Its a necessary evil.

I have no problem with Volcom making money - but I think the quality of their clothing has taken a serious nosedive. I have some ten year old Volcom shorts which are in better condition than some I bought 6 months ago. I guess they are buying cheaper cotton or something.
If you go to the entertainment section of their website, my brother (drew toonz, lives on the north shore in HI) is the artist who did the surf skool movie.

Maybe they should change their slogan to "Adults against Profiteering". That'd totally sell.

i agree completely.. i still like a lot of their styles, but they dont fit as well, arent made as well, and are a little uncomfortable compared to how they were... i switced to RVCA.. they are what volcom was imo.. but still a volcom fan.. and they realy did get popular realy fast. pretty incredible realy

They're certainly allowed to make as much money as they like, but I think their hipster vibe is just too forced. Maybe I'm tired of seeing the fashionistas sporting the stone in the people's republic of boulder...
Mile high Mark read my mind...
the emperor has no clothes..or shoes
I hope they make BILLIONS...I am just calling BS

The important question, really, is: Is the Emperor drinking a coke, or smoking a cigarette....? If so, then, who needs clothes or shoes?
