I would have thought that its a given that the bear trucks will actually come with bearings. They do come that way from Landy (do they still?).
As for the Smokeys. Ive decided that from what I have read here at the fish that they are probably too high end for my ability.
Im going to keep my choices simple, but I will make sure I get a good cross section of stuff that is pretty fool proof, and Id also like to get a selection of stuff that I dont have/ have never tried.

Im interested in the Bennett speed trucks for example, but Id still like to know if they will go through drop through holes.

Smokey's are probably to highend for me too. But then again. It's free isn't it :P And I already have, RI's, RII's and crails. I want something extra funky

edit: one thing. If the hanger bearing fails for some reason. Is it difficoult to get a new one? And really how much more twitchy will those be compared to lets say Crails?

Well even though CS2s Smokey Review thread is a bit of a joke, what I got out of it was that the trucks are not really that stable. The average rider will probably have a hard time with them.
    Well....thats me.
I dont like having expensive gear anyway. Makes me look like a poser, and I dont skate well enough to look like I need stuff like that. .......Plus you worry too much about it.

Got a point there. But again. Nobody actually NEEDS stuff like that, and I already Got Crails, DH's, and RII's. I want something funky. Even if I won't use it to their full potential It'll still be something of an "investment" in case of financial emergancy.

And if they are not that stable. Why ride 'm annyway? They are low and probably have a bit more traction. But stability is important also.

It's to bad there aren't anny 200mm trucks in the guide though. I'de rather have some Luge hangers to be honest. But they're not in it.

Im really just gonna have fun just thinking about the different components.
Its gonna be nice to think of nice tidy little set ups for each of the categories.
I think that bouncing around some info about what WILL actually work pretty well is good fun too.

Yeah, but the deck I have in mind will probably work pretty goo.

    Caften, Smokey's, Speedvents

    Should be a killer setup

Here's mine. I just roll around for the most part, and my selections reflect that. I don't even know if the Bennetts would be good for the Honey, but oh well.

    Longboard
    Deck: Honey Cruiser 43”
    Trucks: Bennett Speed Trucks
Wheels: Retro ZigZags 70mm Green, Orange, or Yellow
    ½” risers?

    Pool/Vert
    Deck: F13 Thrush 2 9” x 36”
    Trucks: Indy 169’s
    Wheels: Abec11 No Skoolz 65mm 88A
    ½” risers

    Mini
    Deck: Pocket Pistols Retro Screamer
    Trucks: Bennett 5.0 Classics
Wheels: Retro ZigZag 70mm Green, Orange, or Yellow
    ½” risers

    Street:
Deck: Pocket Pistols Screamer popsicle stick
    Trucks: Indy (whatever size fits)
    Wheels: Rainskates Yellow Jackets
    Risers: ?

And ya know, I was gonna put down a Hamboard or a JAM 80", but I would never actually buy one of those, so I thought I probably shouldn't just go for the most expensive freak model but actually pick the stuff I would like to have even if I had to buy it myself. Just a thought.

Oh, and you want to know a sure sign somebody loves a setup? If they are give a choice of a free board and they pick out the exact same one again.

If any of you are at a loss for a mini - PPS Retro Screamer/Bennett 5.0's, ZigZag 70mm - Green or Orange. My favorite board ever. I want another one just like it - maybe a different color or something......

    nice board Chris.
I was going to put one of those on my list. With the bennetts its pretty damn cool.
And the Bennett Speed trucks will be great on the longboard. Theyre a 60 degree truck I think so theyll be nice and turny.
