I'd have to say gas prices is the only thing preventing full-stoke.

1. Snow
2. Lack of buddies to skate with (I'm a social person, so sue me). I'll do OK on my own.
3. While not stifling, annoying: I read a bunch online, see that Loaded makes good boards. Come here thinking I'll get the Vanguard, get persuaded by just about everyone that the Dervish is better. Buy the Dervish, +tons of stoke, then peeps (probably the same ones) start saying all Dervish riders are posers. Whatever, I'm still stoked. Mine comes in tomorrow.

Anyone who uses the word poser to define someone is an idiot...
The Dervish is great fun, easy to push long distances, pumps great.
You'll love the dervish, trust me.

None of you asshats are in the hammers shadow but, I will say the new year will bring some forum changes, one of which will be much stricter enforcement of the general anti-hater TOS rules.

Re: who or what is stifling your skate stoke?
Rising gas prices. That limits where I can skate and scouting for new spots.
Living someplace that is not skate accessable. I used to live in a house that all I had to do was walk out my door and I could skate for hours. Just skate from spot to spot. Now the house I live in is not so skatespot friendly. My street is rough and not the greatest skate expierence. My yard is not ramp friendly nor is my driveway. I have to drive to get to skatespots. That takes time and can make skating more of an effort and time consuming. It tends to counter the stoke. I have had this problem in the past and my skating always suffers as a result.
Mind set can kill the stoke. As I got older and didn't have tome to skate as much, my skill level would drop. Tricks that I used to do with ease I no longer could pull. It gets frustrating. I have seen lots of my friends stop skating for this reason. I had to get over that and focus on the fun of skating and not on what I could, couldn't or used to could do. As I started to have fun again and started skating more I could relearn or earn some of my old skills back. Although having young kids yell and get in your face and tell you you suck and should quit can get quite old real fast.
Flip flopping weather has me down right now.

An inch? I could only dream.
It's up to 37* here today! I was pretty pysched.. Spring is in the air! Snow is starting to melt .
We've got about 2-3" of ice on most roads, some of the bad ones have twice that.
Even once the roads are clear, they'll be soaked non-stop because there's 10 feet of snow on the side of the roads. Also, since they gravel the roads, that won't be cleaned up until about 98% of the snow is melted.. Ugh!
Hey, and sniffleless, you could always google earth to scout for spots .. Then once you find a bunch, have a check-out day, and find all your runs that way!
I've been looking for a lot of runs lately on google earth, once spring is in full swing, I'll be checking them out!
I need a new idea for a sig.

Re: who or what is stifling your skate stoke?
well lack of people to skate with can really demoralize me, i can only skate so much alone. ive noticed that when i skate with others my energy level is really high and am uber stoked to skate (then again it could be the shrooms)
as far as spots go... i wish they were better.. road quality is also an issue
Cars are also an issue when skating!
ive really taken it as my mission to spread the stoke here! ill skate with everyone even posers! lol

Yeah, when you live in the Appalachian Mountains and you work about 30 minutes from your house and it's 20 degrees outside a car is about the only way to go.

I've skated in the teens and twenties. warmth should never be a deterrent, just precipitation.
