Skateboarders dodge assault by BB gun
Victims of a BB gun attack took shelter Sunday night in a Des Moines pharmacy.

Police said Jared Ennis, 15, his brother, Brady, and a friend, were skateboarding near Second and Douglas avenues about 9:30 p.m. when a car full of teens drove by yelling and cursing at them. As they continued toward the Walgreen Drug Store at 104 E. Euclid Ave., the car rolled by again and someone inside the vehicle opened up with a BB gun. Three of the passengers in the car got out and chased the victims into the store.

No one was injured.

Police have no suspects. Officers are looking for a green "Dodge Intrepid-type of vehicle."

It was not clear why the occupants of the car went after Ennis, his brother and their friend.

If you skate in my apartment, you might get shot at by an airsoft gun... Even if you're not skating you might get shot...
This, however, is just odd. Reminds me of hearing stories at the high school lunch table about how kids would assault their buds on the way home with paintball ambushes. I was always glad I wasn't a part of that bunch...

When you're not inner-city and you skateboard, stuff like this happens all the time. I've had every profanity thrown at me, rocks thrown at me, people pushing me around, ect... just because I skate and they're insecure rednecks.

This story doesn't surprise me.
