Livin Free Video
I just watched the "Livin Free" video from Orangefist. What a great story, footage, etc,.... a true insiration.
I made an observation and have one question,
why didn't anyone wear protective gear during the filming?
Inquiring minds want to know !!

Thanks for the support Alc. Yes, we're all wearing pads now.

Re: Livin Free Video
Thanks for the response.
The video was truly inspirational.
Most inspirational was Bryan. Not only did he step on a board for the first time, but the dude became the incredible shrinking man, and lost a ton of weight !!
Being over 40 and slightly overweight myself, I recently just ventured back into skating after 25+ years away, and picked up my first longboard in hope of having fun and shedding a few lbs. (and will be fully padded doing it)
What an amazing story, what amazing cinematography, what stoked dudes.... what an amazing video !!
Thanks again.

Re: Livin Free Video
Whats up JERSEY!
Bryan here....thanks for your kind words, I am so happy our video adventure has inspired you....PADS/HELMET, I do not skate without them these days, after a few near death experiences, I picked up a Bern helmet and Dakine palm pads, and knee pads, and wear elbow pads for downhill as well. My only regret about the video is putting padless/sans helmet images out there, but as Mr Kingston stated we were just groms. In Livin Free I was 316lbs and in the follow up footy, I had gotten down to 213! I was skating 50 miles a week (mostly flat landing it) I put on 19 last summer due to not skating much for the first time in 2 plus years(working 29 days out of 31 and drinking too much beer), I am back up to 30 miles a week, drink NA beer (2-3 max) and hope to be down to 185lbs by Maryhill...thats 131 lbs (I wrestled 138 my freshman year of highschool lol)
Michael from Concrete Wave Magazine is printing an article about the video in the next edition, so subscribe or pick it up...Still stoked, love my new life and appreciate the support. Jared ate subs, I learned to surf da earf! GO SKATE!

Re: Livin Free Video
WHAT?!
I really didnt like this movie.
I 100 minutes of my life, i would never want anyone to
film that awkward time in my life when i was learning how to skateboard.
And I especially didnt like watching it from a 40 year old's point of view.
The only good part of this film was the quality of the images, they are professional cameramen anyway.

Re: Livin Free Video
Interesting take, AJ
I sense it might have affected you differently than it affected me.
It seem to capture something unique.
I was inspired by it.
You'll learn more in the April issue
