i don't see how people consider them a "skate shop"
there skateboards and longboards are shunned to the back of the store,
while all the fashion #### is out front.
i would way much prefer a trip to our local spirit skate shop than zumiez.

...most skateshops are like that. Soft goods sell, thats just how it is. im sure your "local skateshop" carries soft goods in the front of their store.....

or maybe it's because if they put all the skate stuff in the front the kids who want it would never walk by their soft goods. now everyone (including real skaters) see it. Dont hate too much, they grow the sport and besides it's the first rule of business: You're in business to make money.

i work for zumiez, and we really aren't doing all that much for longboarding. sure we sell boards, but all we sell is s9 sidewinder series, bomb hills, GOS, the big bamboo pin, and the flatcave pin. the only board we get the chargers on is the GOS and some idiot orders the 9in chargers for it, all the other pins come with alpines, yay. and for the shoes thing, shoes are our number one seller, and we're still selling them fine.

I tried to go to zumiez to get some spacers... didn't have them. Then asked for risers.... Nothing over 1/8 of inch and world industries plastic ones. Bones Reds... Out of stock. Plus the dude was a total emo douche and didn't know anything about skating and kept asking me how I made my Scimitar.

well if you're going to report me to my superior i dont know if i want to tell you where i am. and i'm not really sure how many a year, we've only sold 5 or 6 since i got there in nov. but yeah, you'll be lucky to walk into a zumiez and find someone that really knows about longboards. if you find me, i know my stuff.

i'm in foco colorado (CSU). longboads are decently popular here, but we have a couple legit shops so noone comes to zumiez for longboards.
