They discontiued CW at borders in northridge, ca
I live in the San Fernando Valley and found out last night that they discontinued carrying Concrete Wave Magazine at the local Borders. I love going to borders and flipping through the magazine, especially on a hot day. This isn't an excuse for me not subscribing to the magazine, I just enjoy going to borders, sitting down and reading the magazine and purchasing it when I leave. It's more satisfying for me to actually look for the magazine at the store and buying it, than to just subscribe to it. I know, I know, I would save money off the cover price, but like I said, Its more of a ritual for me just to go to the store, hunt it down and find a nice, comfy chair to sit in and look through it.
I get high off speed

Well, I don't know about Borders but I know here in Charleston that if you are more than two hours late after they put out CW you won't get one. There are three B&N stores here and all three sell out of CW every issue. I've seen the distributor pull back unsold issues of everything from TRANSWORLD to X-SPORTS FANDANGO & TRADING CARDS but CW is always gone.
If they stop carrying it, then the decision would have to be pure boneheaded management.
Just because you can take a naked picture of yourself doesn't necessarily mean you should.

In my area, and in other cities/states I have seen CW in retail stores, I have never seen more than 5-6 copies of the mag on the shelves. Usually its only 1-2 copies.
My comments represent a selfishly one sided 1970's skateboarder mindset, and do not reflect the current fashion-skate-lifestyle industry's views.
