Beta Board Testers Wanted!

I posted this on the Lush boardbuilding forum and thought it a good idea to put it here to.

This contest is looking for all types of riders for testers. I'm hoping that there will be a real mix of people, both in ability level and age.

The technique I have come up with, in the grand scheme of things may not change the way skateboards are built but it's an interesting way to build a deck and worth experimenting with.

Pulling 5 decks out of thin air for this contest is going to be a challenge for me. My expertise is playing with ideas and leaving it up to others to take them to the next level. (ie: Roarockit) I'm not a boardbuilder. So don't be looking for an indestructible, explosion proof board or the best handling slalom stick on the planet to come out of this. I've got an idea and I want to share it. Simple as that!

I think this is a great way to get people who don't have an industry in to get involved in a bit of R&D.

so..., if i read the bulk of that correctly, particulary the part about you not being a boardbuilder, and wishing to share an idea... does this mean sometime in the future we can hope for some roarockit kits that come w/ a combination of materials? such as the usual veneers and some composites? or am i being ignorant/hopeful?

This is a possibility. We have been experimenting a lot with maple/carbon over the last 3 months with some positive results. Need to see how it fits with what we do though.

I think as long as it is no longer than 90 seconds, youtube would work.

The Arcane comp. is slated to end on July 3rd with a week long voting thread to follow. It's strictly for sliding. If you think it's best to hold off your's I'm sorry if it has disrupted your plans at all.

Keep working on the video's, The technique used in the boards will be unique and you will want to be one of the winners. Good news! An addition to the contest which should be quite interesting. Brainfartalerts and I are going to co-build one of the five boards together. The board will include Brian's GiVA Track System.

It is no problem holding off until your contest is over Austin. Thanks for the concern. I hope that everyone steps up to the plate and enters your contest.

to be honest i haven't been excited by anything in the skateboard world of late until ted let me in on his latest innovation for the manufacturing process. it is a step forward in durability and functionality, taking natural design into its core. it's really so simple (yet difficult to execute) and makes so much sense that it's no surprise that no one has come up with it or a way to do it.

got to hand it to you ted... you're quite the innovator.

does "all around" count as a discipline. cause i use my favorite board for everything. i take it to the park, speedboarding, dancing, standup slides, pretty much everything.

Hi, my name is Alex Jones, Im 17 years old and Im a freeborder. I would love to test out one of your boards, 1. because it would be cool to be a part of something new, and 2. Freebord's may not have been what you are looking for, but a light strong deck is definitely what the Freebord community is looking for, I would love to help out your company and the skate community in any way I can and this seems like a great opportunity! Ted, I'm going to drop by on Maple Bacon day and bug you about this. What are your plans anyways? I'm going to be skating the hoof for a bit so I'll be in the area.
