Re: Seismic Ad in Spring CW
I saw it. Big deal.
The important point is the advertisement WORKS.
23 posts SO FAR in this thread proves it.

Re: Seismic Ad in Spring CW
I'm actually surprised at how bad the design of some of the ads in cw are. I also completely understand that they may not have the budget for graphic design. I guess it's better they put their resources into product development rather than marketing.
Crappy looking ads are unfortunate for the mag publisher though.

Wrong. An ad doesn't 'work' if no one buys anything as a result of it and/or it leaves a poor impression on potential customers.
Posts on a thread about an ad are not the same as purchases, which I think is obvious to about everyone. If people do continue to buy or buy Seismic regardless of the crappy ad, it won't be because of either the ad nor this thread. But don't feel too bad, at least you know how to count to 23

"No one?" So your professional insight into this advertisement is Seismic's sales will fall to ZERO?
Tell us what else qualifies you to critique the effectiveness of a national advertising sales campaign?

Well, thank you and I would not be so presumptuous.

he said that noone will buy from seismic BECAUSE of the ad, as in the ad will not increase seismics sales.
and he is qualified because he represents the target audience, and the people in the thread represent a fair porsion of the readers of cw, and none of us were pleased

Baloney. There's several on here who do like it.
And he doesn't "represent" the target audience. He is one mistaken voice in a sea of many.

Ditto for me. I agree completely. I'm totally unfazed/unaffected by ads showing a dude on a board/using gear/holding gear.

Re: Seismic Ad in Spring CW
Who really cares. If you don't like the ad then cut it out of the magazine and throw it in the trash. Problem solved.
